Chaos Dreadnought guns
« on: January 26, 2008, 03:25:16 PM »
There is a lot I dont get about dreadnoughts, but this one has been bugging me: where is the twin-linked boter? On the CSM dreadnought, there is no twin-linked bolter to be found, but apparently it is located somewhere on the same arm as the "rake of death".

Anyone have some kind of fluff that explains this mysterious hidden weapon?

I also do agree with Sanctjud with what he is saying.

A typo, sure, but still eerily accurate...

There is no fluff, it's just an old, old model.  If it helps you sleep at night, explain that it's shooting out Daemonic Fire to the same effect as a Twin-Linked Bolter.

Actually, unless there's an older one than shown in the new codex, you can kind of see it. It's more toward the center of the prt of the arm that's attached to the sarcoughagus (sorry if I spelled that wrong)
"For my lord, my master, I will slaughter in the name or Nurgle. For my own gain and ambitions, I will kill those in my way. For the power of the warp, I will allow Daemon Hood to take my body. As for you, I will slaughter you if you stand in my way. Death to the righteous, death to the holy, and death to those that offer their praises to the emperor!"

Silly, silly Matt.. don't you know that as soon as Space Marines turn traitor they refuse to touch tech that isn't at least 10,000 years old? Those Plasma cannons are for those disrespectful young Asartes with their Land Raider Crusaders and their rock and Roll and their Ipods and their Thunderhawk Gunships and their Britney Spears.... But to answer your question, no, we don't get Plasma Cannons except melded into an Obliterator. Just like we don't get Land Speeders or crazy alternative pattern land raiders or  Thunder Hammers. back in MY day we didn't even get Bolters! We had a rock, and we had to take turns throwing the rock....

You got it, though for Apocalypse you could most likely get away with fielding Plasma Cannon Havocs just by saying that the Plasma Cannons are looted. Or in a normal game of 40k if your opponent is kind enough. Which would e a good accompaniment to a Dreadnought actually as I at least send all my Marines  with Autocannons and Meltas after them rather than my Missile Launchers and my Defilers. Though this could be a bit off topic.

i agree its off topic i guess but the topic is about dread guns and we're kinda mentioning them lol.

but yeah thanks for that "looted" idea! i never thought of that and i think i might try it now ^_^
