Topic: my first "pure" harlequin army, please advise

  ok, heres what i got:

great harlequin
power weapon, shuriken pistol, d field, tanglefoot grenades

5 harlies, 1 plasma pistol, 1 harlies kiss, 1 power weapon, plasma grenades

5 harlies, 1 fusion pistol, 1 harlies kiss, 1 power weapon, plasma grenades

4 mimes, 1 neuro-disruptor, 1 harlies kiss
mimic, power weapon, shuriken pistol, tanglefoot greanades
all with plasma grenades

1 death jester with shrieker cannon

1 venom with shuriken cannon and holo field

its the first time i have decided to go it alone, without the support of ulthwé.
The great harlequin in my army is only there because i havent got a shadowseer and he is more skilled anyway, although lacks the psychic abilities. i also got the model free from the skullz collection and he was what got me into harlequins.
please advise on what else to get, noting that at £2 per harlie and £4 per character, i can easily go on a spending spree and before long have a HUGE army!

Ok, first off, drop all grenades, trust me, you will not need them. Also drop the specialist pistols, for BS3 their not so hot and also you'll hate them in 4th edition assault rules. You want to fleet of foot, remember. Drop the neuro disrupter on the mimes, and the grenades too, Give your death jester a bright lance and see if you can squeeze in another Dj or a venom.

you said drop all granades what about tanglefoot for char only? that way you only spend 4 points and compleately wipe out your enemy.

If you are using the older (3rd ed) assault-rules, this is the case, but if you are using the newer (experimental 4th ed) rules, the greandes don't really do what they once did.

there was me thinking i had it all planned!  
i forgot that holo suits ignored cover and counted as it in the open

the tanglefoot grenades i will keep as the solitaire is with the second squad (dont confuse with for joining) and the great harlie is with the other squad

the pistols are there for a reason, a reason called invictus, and his power weapon equipped ultramarines, that belong to my arch rival (though i am fighting along side him in the eye of terror) and they can make all the difference by taking out his marines, even with poor ballistic skill they more than make up their points

the dj with the bright lance, can it be ordered or do i have to convert one?

There is none in that list, and the Cape and Spear have nothing to do with Harlequins, either. They are from the old Craftworld Avatar. When he was man-sized and all.

However, you can easily model a shriekr-cannon into a brightlance. Just cut it off, pin and get a new weapon on. I have missilelaunchers on 3 of mine; old reaper launchers.

the coverting aint a problem

missile launchers sound good but mean that the dj's cant move and fire, so they cant get out of the way should they need to, however, the weapon idea is good, better on a wraithlord though, personally i prefer bright lance or shreiker on dj and starcannon on wraith, cos then you get the best of all for cheaper
