Well, I am not sure we can add ebay-stores, as they alter names and disappear over night. THanks for the tip though. Warnings for ebay stores is far more valuable, I think.

Some ebay stores have been around for years with +ve feedbacks into the 10,000s. If you are quite small, or not very technically inclined, it can be a good way to have an online presence, although I will admit that most of the good ones seem to have a real store somewhere too.

This guy has a feedback of more than 1600 and has been registered since 97 and last changed user ID in October 03 and only 1 negative feedback in the last 12 months so he seems quite respectable, despite not having a "real" presence.

I agree that they should not be given the same prominence as "real" stores, but it may be worth having somewhere where good ebay stores could be reccommended. I buy a lot of stuff of ebay, and I am sure that others here do too.
Unfortunately, with the nature of ebay, warnings are not very useful, as the problems are mainly caused by hijacked accounts or people starting new accounts to defraud others. I would rather have an idea of who is very good, rather than who isn't. Sadly the former is a much shorter list.

Goods come well packed and within 10 days normally...

I was wondering if anyone order from:

http://www.theworldofhobbies.com

I am thinking of ordering from them, but want to make sure they are legit.

Thanks

I've just received my order from www.chaosorc.com, and their service is great. They have pictures of every one of their items posted, and they have a number of very rare/classic models for sale. Most of the classic models are still in their original blisters.

Although they don't have all of GW's current products, the ones they do have are all at least 20% cheaper. Their items were also well packaged, and arrived within two days.

I have had some trouble ordering items from neal (www.thewarstore.com).  He was slow shipping out standard GW models.  He sent my order in about 4 different shipments as they became available.

I just got my order from www.superherogamela nd.com, which is US based, I believe.  Their prices were all AT LEAST 25% off, more for some of the bigger ticket items like vehicles, fast shipping, free if the order is >$100, all new boxes.

On the downside they have no pictures or descriptions of the items, some of the models were out of stock as of when I ordered, and looking now I can't find any 40k stuff so their stock might be cyclical.

UK Based

Currently doing a deal with them for a Vostoryian Platoon. £42 including postage. I've sent the cheque in the post, they have been very proffessional and pleasant so far, and I am expecting the product soon.

Will say how good they are very soon.

Ok, +1 to them.

Fantastic service, 25% off - even with 4.50 for postage, the Vostoryians only cost £42. They kept me updated, and I will definately be doing business with them soon.

Packaging was immaculate, and even a nice 'compliments' slip.

My 3rd online ordering experience, and definately another very pleasant one!

SWHS - The End of The Line
Its not been an easy decision, but with great regret we must announce that as of Wednesday the 4th of January 2006 SWHS will be closing down.

All orders placed before 4th Jan will of course be honoured but we will not be accepting any more.

We would like to thank you all for your custom in the time we have been trading and extend our best wishes for the future.

Sean

SWHS is out of here and no longer trading. So we should remove it from the list.

I have spent a small fortune with this supplier over the past year and have never had a problem, items are well packaged, 10% discount and free postage. They also sell on e-bay and you can sometimes get used figures at a bargain price.

I'd like to put in a good word for SciFiGenre.com as well. I've never had trouble with them anywhere in the process, though their free shipping can take a while (but then again, it's free, and you can pay $3 to bump up the shipping class). I once had some credit card troubles (bank took too long to update my credit card's billing address), but SciFi had no trouble with it. I got a phone call the day after my order, and a very nice salesperson explained the problem. I told her to try a my old address, which she did (after asking me if I'd like to hold or have her call back!), and promptly informed me that it had worked, and the box would be going out later that day. Very good serivce, and I've used them over 20 times, including gift shipping to the UK, Argentina and Australia.
