a hive tyrant in cc with implant attack deals 5 basic wounds to a 10 man squad the squad has no invulnerable saves do they all die if they have 1 wound each

Nope. Nid Codex states that a MODEL that doesnt pass a saving throw receive 2 wounds instead of 1. So only 5 marines will die.

no, implant attack makes a sucessful wound count as 2 wounds on that model, this is good for taking out multi wound models, vehicles or swarms.

I believe we came to a satisfactory conclusion.
The example involved genestealers and rending, but the same issue would arise with the tyrant, a MC, ignoring armor saves in CC.

Mmmm? If a 1 wound model saves VS implant attack - nothing happens.
If a 1 wound model doesnt save VS implant attack it simply dies.
If a multi-wound model doesnt save or CANT save VS Implant attack it
takes double the number of wounds inflicted. It's clear. What's up?
