Wow everything looks fantastic. Your eels are just brilliant and the base of the purple one looks amazing.

I like the look of your ship as it is and I am not sure if it needs the added realism of rotting wood as Dread suggests. Considering all the magic that is going on I think the highlight you mention should be enough to finish the model off.

Thank you, Alienscar! I'm still experimenting with the basing, got a couple of ideas for it, but I'm waiting till I get my entire force up to standard before doing all of that :).

those pink flesh tones look good. The colour combo on the Namarti looking great

Thanks, Mage! I think for the Namarti, I will highlight the pinkish skintone to be fair and the bluish skin to be more pallid.

Think it could work well!

Have to say that I don't regret finally expanding beyond Citadel Paints. It's truly a game changer. I'm using a combination of Scale 75 + Vallejo Game Air and some GW Washes at the moment until my Secret Weapon Miniatures Washes come in through the mail.

Wow, the eel looks great so far. Good blend of yellows and blues. This is just a thought but if you used the same red on the reigns I think it would compliment the reds on the rest of it. I still can't get over those cool bases you got for them.

I got to try out my first contrast paint the other day, one of the flesh colors on my secret project. I will now be happy to paint flesh, one of the best paint options I've ever had in my 30+ years of mini painting. I've been trudging along on this project pretty steady so hope to have pics up soon.

Keep up the great work.

Hey Dread,

Thanks for the compliments and the suggestion! I'll probably try that out on the reigns and see how it looks :).

Congrats on using contrast - it's a game changer isn't it?

If you have any questions about how to get the best out of it, just let me know!

Hope to see more pics of your work soon!

Looking good! Really dig the blood smears all over the bases......pause for effect....just kidding ::)  they look great and still make me jealous, love that army but will probably never have. You know my favorite part is the skin tone, love that. As you saw on my blood queen, I kinda stole a bit of that idea from you.

See ya soon 8)

Glad I could be of help, Dread 8). Thanks for the compliments, lol, will have to clean up those bases at some point. Finishing all the skintones on my Idoneth is actually my favorite part about the entire army. It really gives them an incredible feel once you've finished that part off.

Especially on the Namarti. Once I figured out the 'Twin-Soul' scheme, they went from 7 to 10 in my book!

Wow, that thing is huge. So many possibilities.  I know it's gonna be the bomb when you get done painting it. Excitement brewing. On top of that, the base will be impressive too.

Thanks, Cav! Glad you're liking everything!

I think you could achieve some really cool conversions with the Namarti for Mandrakes! Cannot wait to see what you do with them ;D.

Nice work Myen'Tal. I can't wait to see what you do with that big turtle...when I got my tiny AoS kick a while back, that was one of the units I most looked forward to and dreaded painting, so to see where you take it....no pressure, but if it's great, maybe you'll be scratching that itch of mine and you'll start an avalanche!

Great work though due; you can be rightfully proud of the army that you're building.

Thanks, Loosh!

I'm excited to get to work on the War Turtle! I'm still building ideas on how to paint one up. Not too many tutorial articles to gather ideas from. I'll admit, this army has been through a number of iterations and I'm super glad I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel for my Idoneth! I really love how much I was forced to learn and adapt, and how far this entire army come.

Thank you for the uplifting words! My army will be technically wholly up to standard after:

20 Namarti Thralls
6 Ishlaen Guard
1 1/2 Gloomtide Shipwrecks
1 Leviadon

My main list will be complete with these!

Crazy idea of mine, I know, and there isn't a lot of information if any on how to do it, but here this out.

I am thinking for my lumineth that have cloaks, I would try to make brilliant cloaks that look like the sunset... i don't know if it's possible. If anyone would like to give advice, feel free.

Planning on doing it all by airbrush.
Here are the colors I've picked out.

All inks, cause they airbrush very well and dry very well too.

So, ultramarine violet base, followed by Naples yellow highlight, then the light version of that. Towards the top of the cloak, will use finer and finer highlights for the pink hues with three different rose colors.

Do I be crazy!?

maybe mixing pearlescent inks with all the colors would give it that gleam

I wish I had some advice but I've never used inks in my air brush, hmm, weird since I tattooed over 23 years. I think your base color, I'm guessing white, will determine the ombiance of the colors. I'm excited, let us know how they work. The colors sound perfect.

hmm well, depends on what you are going to do with the folds in the cloaks.. you have shades and highlights in the cloth so hmmm..

I would be temped to do a a thin off white, shade it, dry brush/edge highly with real white and then start putting the inks on.

These video are more to do with stencils, but they use inks to do transition and colours that intertwine well and they explain it far better than I can ;)
