The Treventhius Eldar Part 2
« on: January 23, 2002, 12:08:15 AM »
The avatar that resides in the depths on the craft world is revered such as any aboard other crafts and is frequently seen in battle. Its weapon of choice is not the wailing doom, but a large scythe with similar destructive attributes. It is rumoured that Isha; the God of the Harvests, gave this scythe to Khaine before she was destroyed, and the avatar uses this weapon as a sign as respect. This is only a rumour, and the Treventhius Far seers never confirm or deny it truth. Many Far seers also use specially crafted scythes when going into battle, which adds to the rumours.

Few Eldar tread the Path of the Warrior, and rely on specialised Guardians for the bulk of its forces, as do the Ulthwé. The majority of these guardians come from house Xran-la, and rival in skill to Ulthwé’s famed Black guardians. These Eldar are constantly trained in the art of war, and act as a standing army. Eldar from the other houses are all trained in the art of combat but don’t receive as constant training. Any guardian squad that is fielded in battle is made of Eldar from the same house. Defender guardians believe in safety in numbers and prefer to be large squads with weapon platforms and in the company of a warlock to keep them in cover so they can survive the hellish universe. Storm guardians believe in smaller specialised assaults with two guardians always using the same special weapon, be it a flamer or fusion gun; accompanied by a warlock with their psychic weapon of choice.

The majority of Aspect Warrior shrines are not present on the Craft world (Warp Spiders, Striking Scorpions, Shining Spears, Fire Dragons, Dark Reapers). Those that do, have a house dedicated to it. Similar to house Treventhius, whenever an Eldar chooses to walk a path of the aspect, they are made part of the house that follows that aspect. Joining a house usually involves an elaborate initiation to see if they are worth of the house and better yet, the aspect shrine. These process has lead to many of those who follow an aspect, getting stuck on that path and becoming Exarches.

In battle, those aspects that are fielded are always lead by an Exarch of the house, and only one squad of that aspect may be present on the battle field. Typically seen in battle are Dire Avengers and Howling Banshees, which support the guardian squads. These either travel on foot or are transported in Wave serpents. Swooping Hawks are usually only seen in larger conflicts or against specific foes where their talents can be used to perfection.

The wraith guard and wraith lords that are used in battle by the Treventhius Eldar are mater of great importance on the craft world. It is seen as a great honour to fight for the Treventhius Craft world, and a greater honour to fight again for the craft world after having been passed into the infinity circuit. Every house (including house Treventhius) submits nominations to a special council (made up of member from every house of the craft world) and a selection is made. Only one squad of wraith guard is even chosen, and typically one Wraithlord. The wraith guard / Wraithlord is then adorned with the house of the soul that is chosen. Typically a single Wraithlord can be seen in battle, with wraith guard supporting the lord in larger battles. Some occasions there have been 2 wraith lords fighting for the Treventhius craft world but this is a very rare occurrence.

Other houses of the Treventhius craft world provide the pilots and gunners for the various Eldar vehicles / heavy support weapons that are used in battle. These too usually adorn their vehicles with the sign of their house so that their enemy shall know who is raining death upon them.
