The 40kOnline Forum Awards 2009.

See the above for the rules and specifics of the Forum Awards, and use the linked thread for general questions.

Make your nominations for the Best Writer [Fiction] here in this thread or through PMing me (though clearly title it so I can easily tell what it's about). The only limit is that you can not nominate the previous winner, which was in this case was a tie between Bluewpc and FireMahSeaOttas'. You can only nominate a single person for an award, but there is no limit to how many awards you can nominate someone for (whether the same member or a different one).

Oh, and people, please remember to use full usernames or link to the profile as I don't know every member of this site's nickname/acronym/shorthand/etc. etc. etc.

Nominees
  • Gornon [1]
  • Thalandir [1]
  • Ddep [3]
  • dragonclaw 15 [2]
  • JackofBlades [3]
  • Storm Crow [1]

Is he the same person as FireMahSeaOttas'? I ask since the "FireMah" is the same.

So long as they've been active in the last year (2009), yes.

Well, dragonclaw15's story "Laney's Angel" was one of the most interesting and immersive Space Marine stories I've read this year, and this from a person who usually can't stand Space Marine stories.

I also wanted to at least mention Ddep, even though I'm not nominating him (it was a tough call though) for his story "The Assassin" which made me laugh more than I thought a 40k story could!

Then if it's not to late I'ld like to nominate Ddep for showing comedy and 40k can be combined.

Further support for Ddep if only because The Assassin is hilarious and isn't meant to stick to canon. He plays with it very, very well.

I also vote for JackofBlades' Morningstar Chronicles. Very interesting, and with some minor revision quite shelf worthy. It's like steampunk Dan Brown.

Also, Burgers, I am touched for the nomination.

I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success.
