Dark Eldar Tantalus
« on: January 26, 2012, 11:53:21 PM »
Hey all,

For those who may be interested, below is a Dark Eldar Tantalus that I cleaned today with a mate. All in all it took about 2 hours of cleaning off mould lines and filing it down. Some pieces do need to be straightened with some hot water due to their thin nature and have warped in the Australian heat.

I was quite surprised at the size of the model itself. It is really well done, and I underestimated the size of it !
If you have any questions regarding this model, please leave a comment below.

Where do I find the rules for that beauty??

Are you going to do a thread on your progress of building it etc? Cause I'd love to follow that....
So, what your saying is it's not your fault you look stupid by using words you don't get?
Flawless logic.

When you say how big it is, is it like 2 raiders side by side big? That sail however looks like it'd be in scale with my Scorpion/Cobra. Is it as big as those?

The rules are in IAA2nd Ed I believe.

i can do a side by side comparison to a scorpion and a cobra if you wish i have all 3 models. It's about the same size.

One thing about building it. Take your time and make sure all the parts on the rear sections fit perfectly. The etched brass sections in particular can be a touch troublesome as you have to get them about perfect. If you don't it will make the model look skewed.

Just got a look through the IA2 and couldn't find it in there... any chance for a pg ref?

I've got a request if possible:

Would you mind making a picture of this bad boy (assembled) next to a new and an old raider?
Just so see the difference.

A bit like this old picture of mine
The Dark Moon Kabal ,possibly the biggest DE army ever!
over 20k and awesome, what more do you need to click? (last updated the 02/03/2012)

Nothing better than killing a thousand slaves to wake up in the morning.

nesbitt_bub1, Would you be able to take a profile picture of the Tantalus next to the Cobra please? The sails make it look very tall.
Thanks :)

yeah no problem, just put the camera on charge will try to dig out the cobra in the morning, it'll be hiding in my stack of cases.

I'll get a new raider out as well, i can't do an old raider however since i chucked them all in the bin.
