The Overlords are back: Faction Focus: Kharadron Overlords - Warhammer Community

And I’m already sold on the changes.  The warscroll updates will probably be just gravy.  ;D

Congratulations, Calamity, you've hung in there with the Overlords and now it's going to pay off in dividends, I feel! :D That ability for gunships to just disappear and redeploy sounds pretty awesome.

I myself, am wanting to build a final army for AoS sometime after my current projects are finished.

Looking at Disciples, myself... 8)

I am happy to see this too, I just started playing this army.  I can't wait to learn more.

Ah ha...the enemy.  ;)

Best of luck with whatever you choose.   :)

You picked the absolute perfect moment to join the fleet let me tell you. :)

Also all of the new warscolls are out on the GW site.  Let me tell you, we now have the tools to dish out some serious payback for years of embarrassment.  :D

For example, the Ironclad is now the deadly flying fortress it’s always supposed to have been.  Fully loaded with fighters and with an Admiral on board, it should be able to go toe to toe with damn near anything.   8)

@Calamity: Well, plans have changed now, as Teclis and another army of Aelves are coming!

I'll be waiting and setting aside some investment money for the time of their release!

Get that paint blog back up and put some Overlords on it! ;) ;) ;)

Ah yes, the pointy elves.  They should be good.  :)

And yes I must get the blog back up and running.  Once work gives me some time off I’ll be right into it.  I miss that a lot.

And I’m breaking out the contrast paints for ease of painting.  Hopefully it might make my scheme look better (I’ve never been 100% sure about it).

I’ve had a good read through the book and things are looking good!  They pretty much did everything I hoped they would and more.  The aether gold share mechanic is a fluffy touch, as is the garrisoning and retreating abilities of the ships.  And better weapons too!  We might, just might, be competitive now.

For contrast paints, I find that a combination of contrast + traditional highlighting is the way to go. Remember, laying certain contrast paints over metallics will produce a really cool metallic effect as well. Layering Iyanden gold over stormhost silver, will get you a cool bronze look!

Cool!  Thanks for the advice! :)

I’m currently trying to make a good list.  Despite the temptation to go ‘battering ram’ style, I think it’s probably best to stick to shooting.

No problem!

Feel free to post up the list and explain your thoughts behind it. I can take a look at the warscrolls and give my opinion. Who knows, Killersquid might show up and lay down the font of Kharadron wisdom :) ;).
