Left hand menu ... gone :-\
« on: December 20, 2012, 04:59:52 AM »
Dunno if this is the right place to post this question/query ...
But yesterday I noticed my left hand side 'menu' has dissappeared
The one with your Avatar image and below it links links to ...

... Unread posts
... Unread replies to posts

... Forum
... User CP
... Quizes
... Articles
... and more
(I hope you know which one I am on about)

And I was just wondering if I clicked some stuff for it to go
Or if it a new layout to the forum
Or what ...
... as I found it very useful to get to areas of this forum quick and easy

Any help or answers would be great

Again sorry if this is in wrong place
 ???

Same here. When I logged on this morning I too thought I had inadvertently deleted something. I'm guessing it is a new forum layout but I agree with you that the new layout isn't as useful/intuitive to use.

You can't inadvertently delete sections of the forum  ;).

The site is currently undergoing some modifications, so you may see a few changes occurring within the next few days.  Not all of these may be permanent.

Personally, I never use the side menus because they compress screen space, and given that the same information is all available via the top menu in any case, you're not really losing anything through the lack of side menu.

The key parts are at the top menu if you need them. Of the forum location linky thing is at the top and bottom too.

I like having more space as i brouse by phone, I hope it doesn't come back! :P

I noticed ... only recently  ???
That you can minimise certain section of the forum on pages
Such as on the Forum Index/Home page
You can minimise ...
... Main stats (And completely 'get rid of it' temporarily by a click of a button)
... Unread posts of the main boards
... and so on

Now ... I have no idea about HTML and what not of making websites
But couldn't the 'left hand menu' have option to be displayed or not
As Hymirl mentioned about browsing on a phone ... to gain that extra space?

Just putting it out there ...

The side menu previously had the option to be hidden.

The site has gone through phases where it has had the sidebar, and phases where it hasn't.  Some people prefer not to have it, and others do, but it just depends on whether it will fit in with the revised front page and forum layout once Kindred has finished tinkering as to whether it comes back.
