I'd like to nominate Changeyname (bias? What bias?) for best local moderator. He puts a lot of effort in, especially in the competitions which are frankly more work than I would be willing to do. Well worth the award in my opinion.

Admit it, you are just staring at the mini skirt

Not every forum is given an award. You have a lot of places you can nominate someone from that forum on here. Besides the board specific nominations are posted on the forums that have such nominations.

Well, I figured that since there isn't a board specific nomination thread for the Roleplaying Board, that I'd pose my question here. And, I actually don't think there are really any general awards that could cover what I'm thinking of in the RPG Board.

I understand that not every board gets an award, but, as an active member of the RPG Board, naturally I'm interested to see why not, or to try and get one for that board.

Saracenar,

Not to make a heretical suggestion or anything, and I hate to interrupt the heated discussion over skirts and legs, but could you not just start your own award thread in the RPG board? I've never tried to create a poll, but I understand that it can be done.

You'd have to handle it yourself, and it would have no "Official" backing, but it would probably serve the purpose of recognizing the efforts of people on that board. :)

That...is actually a really good idea. I bonk myself on the head for not thinking of it!

Thanks for the suggestion. I might just take it up, once I'm rested and awake, in the morning...

In terms of actually creating a poll, I thought I would just point out that only Staff can create these, so if you wanted a proper poll, you would have to ask for one in the sticky thread in the Polling Booth in the usual manner, or ask a Staff member if it would be possible for one of them to create a poll for you in the Roleplaying board.

As Irisado said, only Staff can make polls, however I'll bring it up with the other Staff on whether to include an RPer of the year or somesuch. We've done it before, with the Nid and Ork poster of the year awards, which were not included before because both were very quiet forums originally.

I was thinking I'd just request a poll in the Polling Booth board, but if you're happy to bring it up with the Staff, that would be greatly appreciated, I'm sure.

If it doesn't work out though I'll just take the first option.

Thanks :)

As in RP player or RP master? Are you wanting to reward a certain member or one who runs a successful RP? I doubt it will happen this year yet we may always prepare for next year.

As in master player. Many of the players end up being GMs anyway.

If it doesn't look like it will happen officially this year, I'll run it unofficially and do both RP Player and RP GM.

Nominations are now closed. Expect the voting polls for the general awards up in the Polling Booth and the others in their respective board.
