Thanks, it's based on a hornet actually, but on camera it comes out a little too red. I tested the main scheme in photoshop before panting the models:

The main goal was to have a color scheme that implies a feeling of maximum aggression, like a swarm of hornets coming towards you. From the look on the face of my gaming opponent, i have succeded:)

Those are quite lovely.  Being a field biologist I love it when people use real critters for inspiration...

I almost used a rattlesnake-esque design on mine, but thought it would be a little cheesy. I'm just waiting on the yellow jacket scheme, I would probably be pretty terrified of that one with my personal experiences...

Ok, here are two more close ups of my tyranids, first up is a picture I did for my Army of the Quarter sig I had earlier in the year. It shows a warrior plus some rippers. Second is a mass of guants assaulting a marine position in a game with Deathpepper.

I’m trying to get a decent picture of Bertha (my canifex), but my camera isn’t being helpful.

Firstly you make an account on a free image hosting side like this one. Than you upload your pics there. Having done that, you take the link, the side provides for each pic, use the image tabs when you reply (the button for those is located below the Bold writing button) and put the link in.

finally, Ive gotten time to upload the pics. ;D

Behold, my rendition of hive fleet behemoth...
... and a bunch of random grey tyranids. :)
In advanced... ...some blurry pics :'(

This is my tyrant my pride and joy, i even put magnets in 'im.

this is my only painted carnifex.

That is my army of beasts, though not too easy to see it is:
1 tyrant
3 carnifexes
40 termagaunts
14 hormagaunts
3 ripper swarms
2 zoanthropes
2 biovores
6 warriors
and (not in pic) about 20 sporemines.

Even though this is a tyranid forum im going to post this anyway.

My little brother bought the AOBR and he wanted me to paint his dreadnought, so i did.
What do ya think?
again sorry for the blurry pics. :-\

Hi all,

I thought I would get around to letting others see my Nid army.  Some figures are missing and some are still not finished, but here you are.

my MCs,  tyrant guard and warriors.

Stealers at the back, guants in foreground.

BroodLord and retinue of stealers.  The different colour scheme is because they infiltrate and need the camo.  the BL has feeder tendrils modeled its my first conversion.

unfortunately my camera wont take closeups

I'm seeing some cool armies so far. I especially like Slorpzork's. I'm guessing you're a fan of Lovecraft? Me too. :D

Anyway, here is my contribution to this thread, my unnamed army:

And my pride and joy... <3

I have so many more unpainted models not pictured here it's not even funny.

I'm not just saying this because your color scheme is so close to mine but I really like your nids Nihilanth. They look very realisitic and I love the "slime" on some of them.

I can finally add my Nids to the list I have nearly finished painting everything I own for nids ok except for 40 gaunts and 7 warriors but pretty much everything I use is painted now.

may aswell add this
its the beginning of my nid army....
i'm in the middle of doing my next 'fex, then only 22 gaunts, 16 hormagaunts, 26 stealers, 10 warriors, biovore to go!!!  ....well, and a new hive tyrant when i get enough money.   i got ALL of whats listed above bar 1 fex and 8 stealers for £50.  bargain or what? (theres also a zoanthrope which is already painted)
what do you guys think of the scheme?

Color scheme looks quite insectoid, especially like lush climate ones. The only thing i find... strange is the tongue color. I am not which color would be good but blue seems... strange ..   ::)
smaller the hope, precious it is
