Tactics without DJ:s
« on: January 2, 2004, 04:24:41 AM »
I personally don't like Death Jesters for some unknown reason so I need advice for an army not using them. With what to knock down enemy tanks or tough targets? Or should I still take DJ:s anyway?

If you speak with a stupid man make sure, that he's not doing the same.

Oh, and here's my 1000p list. Advice are wellcome!

HQ:
Shadowseer...114p
-2 shuriken pistols
-powerblades
-D-field
-hallucinogen grenades

ELITES:
Solitaire...164p
-2 shuriken pistols
-powerblades
-D-field
-dread mask
-hallucinogen grenades

TROUPES:
6 Harlequin Troupe...185p
-tanglefoot grenades
-1 power weapon & shuriken pistol
-1 kiss & shuriken pistol

6 Mime Troupe...194p
-Hallucinogen grenades
-1 kiss & shuriken pistol
-1 power weapon & shuriken pistol
-1 power weapon & neuro disruptor

FAST ATTACK:
3 Harlequin Jetbikes...140p
-1 fusion gun
-2 t-l shuriken catapults
-3 ccw:s

HEAVY SUPPORT:
Wraithlord...125p
-D-cannon
-1 flamer & 1 shuriken catapult

Venom...75p
-fusion gun
-holo-field

total: 997p and 19 models

My plan is:
I put the troupe and solitaire into venom and cruise near to enemy. After that venom goes tankhunting or waits the troupe until end of melee. Mimes infiltrate if allowed or  move the extra 6" if not allowed taking some cover. Shadowseer goes with them. Wraithlord attracts fire and shoots at tough targets or enemy tanks. Jetbikes cut enemy battle line to half to prevent enemy firing my troupes after melee.

So comment that as well if you find anything that looks bad...

Thanks

IMO, Jetbikes are way to expensive in such low points.  I would ditch them, and get 4 more Mimes, and then give Haywire Grenades to both the Mimes and Troupers, to deal with tanks.

Welcome to EO/40k.ca

I suggest that you drop the bikes.  Then get those haywire grenades.  Also maybe purchase more troupes or mimes.  So basically I agree with DFS

If I drop Jetbikes then 1 problem rises up. After combat I either advance and then my troupes get shot down or I consolidate and get shot at again. I use bikes, because with these I can screen my attack zone from other enemy fire and save my troupes for next melee. So if I drop them I have to make totally new game plan. And I can't waste 1 troupe to kill enemy tanks. my melee force becomes then too small...
