SW help
« on: July 20, 2002, 11:42:35 PM »
Ok.  I'm a bit of a vet player, so I don't need help with the chapter.  What I do need help in is designing some rules for a weapon that my Wolf Lord carries.  Basically, it's a chainaxe that my Lord took when his axe was melted by acidic blood.  The axe was refined, the original teeth replaced by Kraken teeth, but the working were kept the same.  So I need a way to transport the fluff to gameplay.  Any ideas?

Well, based on your fluff I'd make it the same as the Eldar Biting Blade - for multi-wound creatures keep rolling to wound until you fail to wound, each wound must be saved against individually.  About 5 points would be about right for a Wolf Lord.

If you wanted to make it a power weapon too (which chain weapons never are by the way) add another 15 points on to for 20 points.

Wrong.  Frostblades are power chainswords.  Just look at the Ragnar Blackmane model.

I'm using your idea.  Power biting blade basicaly.  And my Wolf Lord is 200pts with the Axe.  Now I need a suitable name.

A name eh?  Here's some ideas:

The Kraken's Bite
Ice Cleaver
Axe of <your Wolf Lords name>

They way you make the fluff sound you could try to make it like Gorechild (Kharns axe). I only say it because of the Kraken teeth, his is made from drogon teeth.
