"Tier-uh-nids" or "Ty-ran-ids"?
« on: May 31, 2006, 12:08:24 PM »
How do you pronounce it?

"Tier-uh-nids" is the way I've always understood the pronounciation, but you never know.

I'm sure somewhere out there, someone is saying "Ty-ran-ids" (as in Tyrannosuarus Rex).

I've gone with "Ty-ran-ids" myself all thru the years....but I have used the other one from time to time. I think both are good enough, just a preference.

I use the second pronunciation. It doesn't really matter though.

I've alway use Tier-uh-nids myself because it rolls off the tongue, though I think Ty-ran-ids is probably correct, like pylon, cyclone, etc...

I would suggest you looking at the whole forum because that issue has just recently been debated extensively. Go look in the General 40k (I think...)

Because spamming the hotkey for a Deathknight's weapon in WoW is precisely the same as learning to use a sword in real life. That's why when Kendo grandmasters fight, they just stand there shouting keystroke combos at each other.
