EDIT - Please, don't use shorthand or nicknames for people. I don't know everyone on the site, nor do I know all of their nicknames ;).

The 40kOnline Forum Awards 2008.

See the above for the rules and specifics of the Forum Awards, and use the linked thread for general questions.

Make your nominations for the Chaos Poster of the Year here in this thread or through PMing me (though clearly title it so I can easily tell what it's about). The only limit is that you can not nominate the previous winner, which was in this case was Sanctjud.

Only one nomination per person please.

Nominees
  • Qui-Gon Jinn [6]
  • Master Titan BT [2]
  • Fifthwindlegion [2]

See this one is hard.

Since we have 2 distinct armies it's hard to just choose, one, because BOTH did well for each.

I suggest Master Titan BT (named Grand Master BT before), because I did last year, and has done much for the Chaos Space Marines to even be of Terminator Status in the CoC.

But,

If I had to nominate ONE person, that would be Qui-Gon Jinn, my 'equal' in the Chaos Daemons portion of our realm.

_______

I would like to thank those that voted for me 2007, I enjoyed the ego boost and I hope the next one enjoys it as well.

/sarcasm
I know you guys are sooooooooooo frustrated that you can't vote for me again  ;D

My 7 Cents.
If you meet a bear named Sanctjud in the tavern, don't get into his van for candy.  I did once....it's sticky, salty, and really not very nice. :(

Well, I shan't let Master Titan BT be left out here.  He will be my nomination.  If I could have Sanct, I would have voted you. ;)

Qui Gonn.

He's done some damn good lists, helped me with my daemons and given me some good banter.

Vishnah, I'll vote for you someday too ;)

Sorry boss, I thought it meant I could only nominate once.

I'll change my nomination.

EDIT: I change it back :P

You are correct, you can only nominate one person, but you can nominate someone who has already been nominated. For now I've counted your vote, but it can be changed or removed if you wish.

This will only have an influence on the polls if there are too many nominees, in which case the ones with the most nominations will go through to the voting stages.

I think a few people have misunderstood the 'one vote per person' rule (especially in the board-specific nomination threads), so I'd just like to make it clear:

You can nominate one person per category, however you can not nominate the person who won it the previous year and you can not nominate yourself.

The 'one nomination per person' pertains only to each category, so you can't nominate two people for the same award. You can nominate someone for every award out there if you so wish (obviously not the same person though, as no-one is that active, not even Rasmus :P). You can also second/third/etc. someone who has already been nominated, although how many times someone has been nominated only comes into account if we have more than 8 nominees, in which case the ones with the most nominations go through.

Hope that clears things up.

My Nomination: Qui-Gon Jinn

For me, it was between Gui-Gon Jin and Fifthwindlegion. Both (from what posts I've seen) have a large amount of constructive and helpful posts. When I needed information, both helped me greatly. So, it came down to a coin toss.

Thanks for the support fellas!  IIRC, it was pretty tight between me and Sanctjud last year!  Hmmm, what else could I do to sway the votes my way?  Hmmm, another tutorial perhaps?  Cash!??  Hmmmm......... 8)

I'd throw my support behind QGJ too.  Obviously, he's been nominated several times and doesn't need another, but I can't think of others that have done more.  Even though I disagree with his daemons advice at times, he still has been a quite visible presence on the boards and no doubt a great help to many.

Lotta love for Sancjty, really appreciate his work and contribution to the board and the army.

...but I'm going to have to go for Qui-Gon here.  Because of the new Daemons army and his mastery of it, this board's been able to help many a new player or players new to an army.  This is rather major since the army is so new, with little play experience (yet thus less nostalgic complaints... "my Dust Buckets aren't as powerful, waaah"). Besides, Sancjty already has '07 under his belt.

So I'm going to throw mine in for the Jinn-man.

I will nominate Fifthwindlegion - he had very good posts and was most helpfull.

Raktra, hehe, you have done amazingly well, here in the forums, but I think this year is still a bit early for you, and we will see next year :) Keep up the good work and my vote goes to you next year.
