Because spamming the hotkey for a Deathknight's weapon in WoW is precisely the same as learning to use a sword in real life. That's why when Kendo grandmasters fight, they just stand there shouting keystroke combos at each other.

Their mention in White Dwarf 300. I don't have my copy on hand, but I'll get back to you when I find it.

There names are Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone. After creating GW, they wrote several books. Most famously the Fighting Fantasy Game Books.

Then, after becoming Very rich, they both quit. Ian now runs EIDOS, and Steve does his own thing. Check out WD300 for a bit more on them.

please note: the Steve Jackson who started GW is not the Steve Jackson who owns Steve Jackson Games

Here's an interview with Ian Livingstone.

It amused me reading his books and playing GW as I share his surname...

Ian livingstone used to study in a small town south of manchester called altrincham. he is an old boy of my school. He donated computer equipment so it could start teaching IT A levels and evening classes :) claim to fame.

It is pernicious nonsense that feeds into a rising wave of irrationality which threatens to overwhelm the hard-won gains of the Enlightenment and the scientific method. We risk as a society slipping back into a state of magical thinking when made-up science passes for rational discourse. I would compare it to witchcraft but honestly that's insulting to witches.
