I have never seen that map before. Well now i know where my craftworld exactly is. If you ask me... the Tyranids are having chow and the leviathan hive fleet is so damn close to earth.

well, i really wish he had posted a link rather than apic so huge it distorts the page and takes forever to view.

As for the location of the craftworld, not quite.

craftworlds are not fixed in space, but rather move , usually in some elliptic path. there are exceptions, but you'll note that in codex tyranids (for 2nd edition) iyanden happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, as thier path crossed withthe hive fleet.

Right click on the picture and choose "Properties" from the menu that pops up.  The URL will be listed there.

I vote for Fishenstein.
He will be drawn to large cities, where he will clog sewers, reverse street signs, and steal everybody's left shoe.

Ahhh, now I see, thanks.

As I was looking I came across Posul of the Mortifactors and this is what it said about planet and them:

Night world, shrouded in near perpetual darkness. Homeworld of the Mortifactors Space Marine chapter. Inhabited by fierce nomadic tribes, who are in constant warfare with each other. The tribesmen, from whom the Mortifactors recruit, are known to eat the flesh of their slain enemies, ritually gaining the strength and skill of the fallen foe.

:And I thought the Blood Angels where scerwed up in the head! These dudes are recruiting a bunch of Hannibal Lector's to fight for mankinds survival!

It is just another one of those "what is htis thing?"-hints that GW left in the maps in the old days. I have read all teh 2nd ed codices (where this map was compiled from) and I can't recall it ever being mentioned in any text. It just appeared on the map.

Actually, I remeber something about the "Storm of the Emperor's Wrath" from long ago... I believe it may have been in the Second Edition SOB material.  I believe that during the Age of Apostacy there was a huge uprising against the corrupt Lord Vandire's rule.  This was led by Saint Sebastian Thor.  At one point a massive fleet was put together to crush all resistance to the corrupt Imperial rule.  This fleet was probably the largest ever assembled in Imperial history, and the meager forces resisting it were pathetically outgunned.  At the last moment a warp storm of incredible fury suddenly whipped up and destroyed the entire fleet as it was deploying for battle.  That warp storm, much reduced in size, continues to this day.  (I'm not sure of the specifics, but that's the gist of the story.)
