Nikolai of the Emerald Dragons (comments welcome)
« on: December 3, 2005, 01:56:27 PM »
I was wondering what people think of this, please leave comments.

Nikolai frowned as he looked upon the prisoners in front of him.  “Such a waste of manpower.”  He thought to himself as the loyalist marines were dragged before Ezekiel’s onyx hewn throne.  Ezekiel leader of the Emerald Dragons, the Unforgiven One, and the most respected member of their renegade force.  Behind him to the left stood Maurus, the most powerful sorcerer in the legion, and even though Maurus spoke little, when he did his counsel was taken no matter what.  And then to his right stood Nikolai himself, a daemon prince of the great Gods of Chaos.  Although Nikolai was the strongest there he knew himself not to be a leader but a fighter better than even Ezekiel.  But Ezekiel had founded the Company, turned the most insane of soldiers to follow his cause, which earned him respect within itself.  Not many men could control a Chaos Marine and yet Ezekiel had almost obtained a full Company.  However, a cry echoed within the hall stirring Nikolai from his thoughts.  One of the filth had managed to break away from his captor and was charging toward Ezekiel.  Nikolai stole a glance toward Ezekiel and saw him nod his approval.  This was all Nikolai needed.  Within seconds the marine was dead as his arm blade bisected the marines’ torso and blood covered Nikolai’s face.  Nikolai roared at the rest making sure that none of them would attempt such an irrational attack another time.  The roar itself had not stopped the marines however.  It was the speed in which Nikolai moved that froze them to their spots.  The daemon prince was over 8 ft. tall, taller than any of the cretins on the floor.  He had huge leathery like wings that resembled a dragons, his head was the form of a dragon/dinosaur of old, his arms covered in scales and along his spine ran a length of spikes that ended in a serpents tail.  The rest of his body appeared human excluding his claws and arm blades that appeared to grow right through his gauntlets and were attached to the forearms.  He was also massively muscled far beyond any normal marines capacity.  The Gods had granted him good gifts and he accepted them for all they were.  He was THE Emerald Dragon.  He represented what the renegades could become.  He then returned to his place on Ezekiel’s right grinning all the while as the loyalist dogs retook their places on the floor.  It was too bad that they were going to die seeing as how their gene seeds would be pulled after the Games.  The Games were a sort of entertainment for the dragons.  They pitted captured prisoners against Aspiring Champions and regular Chaos marines alike.  They were not fixed so that the Chaos marine might win.  It was an even fight, if one could call a fight within the Eye of Terror an even fight; because even the most devoted loyalist had a very hard time adapting to the Eyes subtle machinations.  Nikolai laughed as he thought this and the marines, their faces ones of the hardiest and noblest peoples, began to gain a look of dread.
“Claws through flesh and fangs through bone!”
