Summary:
Tube

You may have seen Tube's warhost at the Grand Tournament UK 1997, or you may have come across his work on the net. Either way, you're in for a very stylish treat.

Name:

Tuomas Lähdeoja. Many call me Tube.

From:

Helsinki, Finland

Play:

WH40K, WHFB, RPGs

How It Came To Pass:

I began miniatures gaming when WD105 came out, and started with 3rd edition WHFB and Dwarves - apparently the beard hung on, despite moving on to other races and games. Dwarves got company from Space Marines pretty quickly, and they are still my main armies (boo! hisss!). As soon as the Space Elves evolved into something not completely unlike the current Eldar in WD127, part of my heart was sold. It took years, however, to actually paint up an army in addition to some loose figures <the Warlock is one of these>. The incentive came with the apparent power - and coolness, I claim! - of an Eldar Windhost in the second edition and a planned trip to 40k GT97 (oh dear, it was that long a go...). After one distastrous game against Tyranids I ended up in the 5th place. And have been returning every time thereafter.

The Eldar Army:

I like to use non-GW-given paint schemes, and the dark blue (Space Marine Dark Blue to be exact) combined with contrasting colours was an effective, yet relatively easily painted scheme. When working on whole armies in limited amount of time, some consideration has to go to the speed one can paint the army! I took my time with the harlequins, and they provide a nice contrast to the relatively uniform army, and allowed a bit of flashy painting. Shadowrun players should note the Harlequin bike.

Current Interests:

These days I'm very much a tournament player. The vast majority of my games are played either in tournaments or practice and army fiddling games at home. I organize such with a couple of friends http://www.chaosboyz.org/ and generally find well run tournaments very enjoyable affairs.

40kOnline thanks Tube for his wonderful display of jetbikes! We look forward to seeing more of your work!
