"destroyer" ability.
« on: December 29, 2005, 03:19:56 PM »
Oh my god I'm in love all over again!

I've never really had a chance to try this out before but today was the day.

Chaos dreadnaught, with two powerweapons and destroyer ability. (Fielded two of these)

On the strength of a turn one "froth" roll for the dreadnaught, followed by a six I cleared 18" straight into combat, (it was deployed forward in an attempt to lay down fire) and made EIGHT attacks on a landraider, decimating it on turn 1, and following up into another unit.

The second dreadnaught did a normal wander on turn one, and then frothed into some bikes in turn two (eight inch move) taking them apart too.

It failed to make combat with a second unit though, so got immobalised shortly after...

Dreadnaught number one however managed to polish off three squads before endgame.

Anyone else get these kind of antics to pass? Or are ye' all of the oppinion that its a waste of points? (I validate it on the ground of "Its hella fun when it works")

Personally, I've never used this, but one of my friends fielded the same type of Dread. Then he came up with an idea of adding parasitic posession which became a horror to his enemy. He was ripping through his squads and repairing itself (lots of 4+ rolls) after every attempt to immobilise the beast. Some might say that it's a point waste, but it's lots of fun for sure! :)
