Is there any way to keep the system from merging the posts in my conversion project thread?

The auto merge process happens if you sequentially post within a short time frame. Looking at the thread itself it appears fine even after the merge. What's bothering you about it?

There was about a 30hr gap between the posts. It's mostly that it doesn't show on the main page or in the conversion forum that a new post has been posted.

There's no way to individually toggle the auto merge off between boards. So solutions are either wait longer, hope someone replies between, or make the original/sequential post so large it won't merge (which causes its own fixable problems).

In addition to the above, the thread itself is, however, flagged as being new, so anyone who browses that board will see that new content has been added.

Despite it showing the date/time of the last post as the that of the first one and not the merged post?

Yup, the thread still gets the new post flag on it but stays where it is on the list rather than moving to the top.

If you get into the situation where a post is too long to auto merge, thus not allowing you to post at all, do what the Battle Report people do and make a new thread with the second post and report it with a message asking for it to be manually merged. One of us usually gets to it quite quickly.
