That is truly amazing work. Please tell us how you painted the lava. I can't wait to see the final product.

Thanks for the kind words.  :)

The lava is fairly easy, although a bit random, random enough that I couldn't get the same finish on the second piece, although I think that's because I messed up the steps!!! (I've called the second one finished as it's shown here, need to other things)

Anyway, off a white base; a few coats of yellow ink, a coat of thinned orange ink (these were more or less painted on), a couple more of thinned down yellow ink, drybrushed the edges mecharite red, coat of gloss varnish and bobs yer uncle.

I think the fact that i cut into the foamcore and had the rough surface as a base enhanced the effect. Tbh, I reckon the camera flash added 20% goodness to it aswell.. :D
