Title: Saim-Hann, Space Wolves and Nids
Post by: Saim-Dann on November 5, 2017, 05:25:46 AM
G'day Forumites!
Been a while since I've posted anything. Am extremely time poor nowadays and have done next to nothing with our hobby. Managed to scrape together the odd hour here and there to get some projects started.

Would have preferred to present these pieces finished, however, found I couldn't do any detailing till I have an eye test and glasses upgrade. So only the base coat and wash have been put on the Wolves. Will just be getting your opinions on the positioning.

Grey Hunters

The base coat is Mechanicus standard grey drowned in nuln oil. Runefang steel also with the same wash.

All infantry will have their helmets on their hip and bolters/special weapon strapped over the shoulder. Have also replaced the chain swords with scout blades and axes, to give them more of a hunting vibe.

Blood Claw pack leader.A Dwarven ax used as a Power ax. Swapped out his legs for the legs off an assault marine to give him that, berserk charge, look.

This will be the pattern for the Nids. Again, waiting on the eye test for finer detailing.

Big shout out to Cavalier and Ynneadwraith. Was impressed with the touch-up of your Corsairs, Cav. Putting a wash of nuln oil over your lads inspired me to give the same technique a shot on my Wolves/Nids.

I know the photo's don't show it, but the oil gives the Mechanicus grey a deep richness that I'm very happy with. The Nids were base painted Khorne red, nuln oil, then built up with a heavy dry brush of khorne red, a lighter drybrush of evilsunz scarlet and finaly a very light drybrush of blazing orange.

Ynnead! I was struggling to decide what colours to put on the shoulder pads of my Wolves. Then you posted a photo of some blokes SW's. No other colours but the grey and simple washed down siver for the metalics. So I stole it and ran like the dickens. Thanks to you both and all other forumites for the inspiration with your project blogs.

All and honest critiquing will be appreciated... Be well!

I love it man. For whatever reason I just prefer the Space Marine pre-Heresy colors. I'm not sure if GW rolled out Space Wolves in dark grey, like they had the Dark Angels in black, but the colors just seem to make more sense and match the theme of the army better.

I'm all about the grey + steel my man. I'd go with that all day long. I majorly dig the weapon swaps as well.

The Tyranids look great as well. Nice classic look to them and the paint jobs are really nice.

If you paint the Wolves as nice as your Bugs they are gonna look excellent my man.

The more I see the Space Wolves the more I like them. Their kits are just so nice looking and with a darker more grim paint scheme they look a 1000x more menacing. I love it man! I think it'll be a pretty intimidating force on the table. I wouldn't change a thing. Keep rocking man I cant wait to see a finished unit!

Where's the pointy ears!    ;)

My mate didn't like the baby blue space wolves, he ended up mixing his own but it was more on the grey side.

Your going to have some good looking targets for your Eldar :)

Bwahaha!
Cheers Magenb. Targets for the Eldar and food for the Nids. Am keen to get back into it, mate. Have to help clear some fallen trees and stuff first.

We had a great neighborhood swap meet. A mate lost his caged trampoline to the storm but gained a tinny, ( A small outboard boat to the rest of the world). Thanks for the reply, mate... POINTY EARS FOREVER!!

Hey man, not good with the storm but glad your clan's alright ;)

'nids are looking great! I get what you were saying abotu the barren lifeless bases where the 'nids have eaten all the biomass :) nuln oil really is magic stuff isn't it ;) doesn't work for everything (I tend to prefer Reikland Flesh-shade for my warm-palette eldar), but it does add a brilliant richness to the vast majority of colours that would otherwise take donkey's years to build up with successive layers of paint :)

Great start on the Wolves too :) I like the idea of using knives and axes to give them a hunter/woodsman feel, and yeah Migs' Space Wolves have been a real inspiration for me too :) the whole super-limited palette (but made up of lots of variations of similar colours) builds up to something way more striking than you'd expect.

Can't wait to see them come together :) waiting patiently for life to deal you a bit of a better hand time-wise ;)

Thanks for your thoughts, mate, and the inspiring photo. Although I would love more time for our hobby, my responsibilities are family so it's a love job... Be well!

G'day forumites!
Got my hands on some mechanicus spray paint and went to town on the rhino fleet. 6 rhinos for the Grey Hunters, 3 Razorbacks for the Long Fang and 3 whirlwinds for the hords.

Have started painting one of the whirlwinds and need some advice. How do we cover a model with large flat areas with a wash without it becoming blotchy? Any help would be appreciated... Thank you!

Title: Re: Saim-Hann, Space Wolves and Nids

Hey Saim-Dann... now that is a sight to behold. Stuff like that is why I'm dying to have a Dark Angels army. Space Marine vehicles are just so classic. As for your question the Nuln Oil is almost always going to be blotchy when coating it over larger flat surfaces. The trick is to not put it on flat surfaces (if you dont want it on there at all) and just run your brush around the big panels. But if you are trying to weather those panels with the Nuln Oil you just "buff" out the areas of blotching and pooling with some careful dry brushing. Thats what I did on my World Eaters Predator.

So if you want a weathered look on the big flat panels, but there are some ugly areas of pooling, just buff them out with a little dry brush. If you need to re-weather them with some normal paint, do some scuffing and chipping. Or you can experiment with some GW DRY paints, or some technicals like Typhus Corrosion.

When I did my Storm Eagle and Predator there was huge amounts of pooling. Obviously I dabbed it away where it was getting crazy and then just buffed it out like I described. Anyway hope that helps. Let me know if I understood the problem right. Good luck Dann. Cant wait to see these painted!

Cool bananas!
Thanks for that, mate. Will give your suggestion a go. Will only be detailing the 3 whirlwinds and razorbacks for now. They will be part of a 1500 pt list designed specifically for a Sisters army.

Thanks again for your advice, Cavalier. Truly appreciate it... Pointy ears forever!!

Dirt and dust will tend to collect around raised points on stuff that moves or will splatter/spray from the wheels or tracks. So battle damage like Cav suggested is a good way to go for large flat areas.

Thanks, Magenb!
It will have to be snow instead of dust though.

G'day all!
Still, haven't the opportunity to upgrade the glasses. So still no highlighting and faces, however, scraped together the time to experiment with a big-honk'n boey knife.

G'day forumites!

Ynnead: Thanks, mate. Eyes are tested and new glasses have been purchased. Faces and edging next agenda.

Cavalier: Cheers, mate. The tone of grey was stolen from your refreshed Corsairs. 2 coats of nuln oil. Only I won't be building up the colours like yours. Just double edging.

Looshkin: Thank you for the encouragement, mate. Projects like yours inspire longer attention to my own.

Orange: Cheers, mate. Yeah, blending is a hoot. Used to do it to the entire model, but have become far too lazy in my old age.

Well now, eyes are fully functional again and 1500pts of Doggies have been brought up to standard with just the faces, fur and edges to go. Please excuse the shocking photography. Am looking into a course to rectify that.

3 units of 6 Grey Hunters. Really wanted all models to be fighting with their bolters slung over their shoulder, however, have run out of scout blades/axes so had to resort to 1 unit holding they're guns.

All 3 units will be transported in Razorbacks with twin lascannons. Perils of buying second hand. The doors, not matching and stuck with H.bolters. Will be bathed in simple green one day.

This list is designed to face a Nuns with guns army and other strength 3 lists. The plan of attack is to use the razors to bust open transports from a distance. The whirlwinds then soften the disembarking troop then send in the Grey Hunters to clean up. Of course, everybody has a plan till they get punched in the face.

Whirlwinds aren't effective against anything above strength 3, (Have killed around 5 marines with them in the decade I've had them). This unit will be replacing them when up against tougher armies.

Fantastic update Saim-Dann. I'm totally in love with your paint scheme for these guys. IMO this SHOULD be the official Space Wolves scheme. Its grim, imposing and just totally evokes the wolf motif. The metal on grey just looks so 40k too... this feels more like a Forge World type army than a regular 40k army which is 100% awesome. I love the paint jobs they are smooth, classic and grim as hell. You totally killed it.

I love Ivan the battle leader with his helmet on his belt, the Iron Priest is just a phenomenal model choice (in terms of meshing with the color scheme and army), the black wolf symbol on the vehicles is totally bad ass and the Terminators look super intimidating. I love the load out and the modelling. This is gonna be one of those armies where you are saying "Oh Crap." when the models are put down on the table. You know what the units are, they look ferocious and you know with Space Wolf rules they are gonna be savage. Just a KILLER update my friend. I'm loving this army. Keep it up you are crushing it

Hell yeah grim and militaristic limited-palette Space Wolves :) definitely look like they mean business.

Works especially nicely on the Rune Priest and Iron Priest. The limited palette really compliments the additional detail and multiple layered armour :)

Oh, and I'm in love with your axe-wielding Skyclaw. Fantastic posing :) woe betide whoever's on the end of that swing!

Cavalier: Thanks for the support, mate. Will have to change the Battle Leader. Ivan is Russian, not Viking... DOH! Really wanted to have Thor with his helmet on his hip, like the rest of the army, but he was lead and I'm lazy. Glad you like the progress. Is a big boost from a fellow commercial artist.

Ynead: Although the custom fighting poses on these models was started back in 5th ed, it's your inspiration to keep it going. The double-bladed ax was a very expensive model.

There were none with the Wolves back then, so I bought three of a Dwarven fantasy character with the blade at $32 each. It wasn't long after that GW started putting double blades on their models :o.

Dread: Thanks for taking the time to swing by, mate. Have missed you amongst the threads. Hows the business going?

G'day forumites!
Almost finished the first Grey Hunter unit. Life is threatening to take over again so I'm posting them incase I don't get the chance to complete. It's been a looooong time since I've painted faces but know improvements will happen as I trudge through the army...

These came out excellent Saim-Dann! Man just a fanastic job all round. The dark grey, with dark metal is really set off nicely by the all the really nicely painted heads. I think they came out excellent. Great job on the eyes, hair and great shading on the face. The faces are really expressive too, giving them a ton of character. I'm an enormous fan of what you are doing with these models...and again the black wolf on the dark grey armor... I'm in love with it. Just killer stuff my friend. Keep it up. This is Space Wolves done right!

I love the dark scheme Saim-Dann. It really suits Wolves well. The faces as well, I think are great.

If I could add one little bit of advise, though, it would be to add a thin coat of Lahmian Medium on top of the transfer. That should reduce the shine from the transfer and make it look like it's more part of the paint, rather than something added later.

Yeah the darker scheme looks ace dude! It's really come together now that the faces are painted.

I think we should petition for an official change of paint scheme for the Wolves ;)

I like the naturalistic colour scheme you have used Saim-dann and I really like the mottled look you have given to the carapace of the Prime. Awesome stuff.

Oh man they look so good Dann. The carapace in particular looks absolutley awesome! The brown to bone is just fantasic. Well done! I just love this color scheme too... did you follow the Scorpion82 tutorial? Because they look that good. I'm so jealous you've got a Nids army... If there is ever another army I'm going to collect it'll be Tyranids. IMO of all the classic "Baddie" factions, they'v got the BEST models, hands down. They are also my favorite army to play against bar-none. They've got great shooting, great melee, and awesome weirdo units like the Neurothrope (insanely awesome model), Toxicrene and Venomthrope which I love.

Oh man. Please keep posting updates on this. As you can tell I just love Tyranids

G'day Alienscar!
Thanks, mate.Truly appreciate your kind words. Your comments have stayed with me from my very first posting and I take them to heart. The shocking photography doesn't show it, but all my Nids have the mottled effect on their carapaces... Cheers, pointy ears!!

Hey, Cavalier!
Thank you so much for the words and inspiration, mate. Not really a copy of Luke's work. More a copy of nature. The original plan was to go with black and yellow. As in the dangerous bugs and reptiles, but that looked a little too bumblebee.

Two of the most dangerous snakes in our territory is the Red Belly Black and King Brown. Both will kill you by just looking at you. The inspiration behind my Nids is a combo of these two predators... Be well!

Here is what was in the package, earlier.

Thanks, Magenb for introducing us to this.

Niiiiice!

If you are not going to fix the walkways in place, then make a simple base, it really improves the stability.

You can also find some instructions on their website for the kits too, they make the kits to be built in an order.

Looking forward to seeing how you paint them up :)

Sweet work on those nids' too.

I have two of the towers, a walkway and the "dais". Really happy with them.

Keep the negatives after you have punched out the pieces. You can use them to retrace the patterns on foam board to make more!

G'day Magenb!
Thanks for the advice. Still, haven't decided how to paint this beast yet. Keep an eye out, mate... Pointy ears forever!!

Hey, Partninja!
Yeah, have been tracing each piece and numbering them as I take them out. Will be building these models as individual pieces, however, want to use the traced stencils to build a multiplex firebase. One tower with two different leveled Dias platforms.

The Dias is a perfect fit for a wave serpent or three vypers. Cheers for poking in, mate... Be well!

Title: Re: Saim-Hann, Space Wolves and Nids
Post by: Saim-Dann on January 24, 2018, 05:24:19 PM
G'day Ynnead!
Thank you, mate. That means a lot coming from a bloke of your standard.

Base coated with ushabti bone. Then a blend from under the carapace of mournfang brown to ushabti bone. Add some long, not round, Kirby dots. Solid from the top/centre of each carapace, fading out. Give them a heavy wash of agrax earthshade, (Drying upside down so as it gathers heavy under each join). Then a final dry brush of the ushabti bone.

This is where I'm up to with the Eldar terrain. The stairs on the far left will attach to another dias base, forming a nice complex firebase.

Nice layout :)

If you want to put some spirit stones on it, check out your local spotlight store, they have a bunch of different shapes and colours of plastic gems. Normal super glue works very well, but it dries very quickly, so use a pencil to trace out the position before you glue, found that out the hard way.

Loving the Tyranids Saim-Hann. The mottling effect on the carapace is very well executed. I'd love to see some shots of these guys from a lower angle though! The top down look is great for the detail of the carapace, but I just love seeing what a terrified guardsman would see!

I've looked at those Eldar terrain sets numerous times, but I may have to go for some soon. They look great and I'm sure when you get them painted they'll be a superb centrepiece for your board.

Terrific work as always buddy, keep it up!

Hey, Looshkin!
Thanks for your kind words, mate. Only took the Swooping Hawk view shot because only the head and back carapace were done. Took some head-on shots for this post, however, they turned out shocking.

Finished the Trygon, Swarmlord and 20 Genestealers.

Oh man this is looking GLORIOUS! Those carapaces are just amazing Dann. What a collection of units too... I'm super envious... I wished we lived local to each other because I'd be DYING to play against this army. Avatar of Khaine vs. Swarmlord... FIGHT! Hell yeah.

Just excellent stuff Dann. I really like your painting style, very unique... its painterly but super clean which you dont often see but its very striking and very well executed. I dont think I could see it as much on your Wolves because they are so grimm dark... but I can see the similarities in painting style now that I've seen your Nids. Very cool, very interesting.

Anyway fantastic stuff my friend I'm loving these Tyranid updates. Keep them coming. Cheers Pointy Ears!

Absolutley crushing it! You are flying through this army bud... Damn am I jealous too! Arghh! The more I see it, the more I realize Tyranids are truly my favorite bad guy army.... and they are in red too... so that probably has something to do with it.

The balance of red to bone is spot on. And paint job on the bone part of the carapace is again so well executed. I really love your style man, its very striking.

What weapons load-out is that on the Carnifex? They've been absolutley awesome in Scorpion82's bat-reps so I'm fascinated to know what route you are going with them...

Any ideas on a Hive Fleet?

Anyway great stuff man, so glad Bugs are so good again. Love all the units you've chosen too... keep it up bud you are rocking!

G'day Cavalier!
Thanks for the encouragement, mate. Am pleased with the progress, myself. The Carnifex is wielding a heavy venom cannon with massive crushing claws.

Hive Fleet Kraken. Had a game last Thursday night at the LGS and wiped the IG guy out to one conscript. The combination of the hive fleet adaptations and the Swarmlord's high commander in conjunction with Genestealers is a hoot. 45 shots from 15 Termagant appearing from a tunnel added to their 1st round pain.

Going mostly combat units is a risk and will soon have to change once word gets around. However, with Genestealers, Termagants, and the Trygon Prime racking up wounds on the very 1st turn it's worked out.

Thanks again for the feedback, Cavalier... pointy ears forever!!

Have something in mind, mate. Will have to test it on some Hormagaunts. Any suggestions are welcome, though.

I am no painting expert like Looshkin and Cavalier so I am sure anything I came up with would only spoil the look of your models. I was thinking to counterpoint the striking bone look you have achieved I would like to see the swords or talons painted so that they looked like they were made from a horn like material. No idea what colour would work best though.

Hey, Alienscar!
Am with you on that point. Have been pondering a black to grey look to them. fading out to a very light grey, highlighted with white, to give that sharp look. Not a smooth fade either. A scratchy effect like your bone suggestion.

... and don't knock your painting, mate. I wouldn't let anyone else talk about your style like that and get away with it, so you're included. Your work is Micky Mouse. Good suggestion, Alienscar... Cheers, pointy ears!!

I think those Tyranids are looking great at the moment Saim-Hann. As I said previously, I think that the Bone is done so, so well. It really is a brilliant effect that you have achieved. As for the flesh...I would personally add a little more depth to the recessed areas...a bit of Agrax or Nuln would just deepen the shadows and make the flesh pop a little more; but all that is personal taste. I definitely looks good as is.

I am no painting expert like Looshkin and Cavalier

Fixed the quote for you!

However, I do have some advise.

Have been pondering a black to grey look to them. fading out to a very light grey, highlighted with white, to give that sharp look. Not a smooth fade either. A scratchy effect like your bone suggestion.

I think that would look amazing. Before even reading your reply, I was thinking 'Black to grey talons would look awesome and really finish the look'. I kid you not.

I used this type of effect (although a bit smoother and a little less contrast than what you are going for) on my High Elf Prince mounted on a griffon:
In this case, I think that it was Abbadon Black followed by Dark Reaper, The Fang, Russ Grey and finally a little edge of Fenrisian Grey. I think it could totally handle a fine edge highlight on top of that though. Using the Blue/Greys of the Space Wolf range gives a far more natural palette than going down the White/Greys such as Administratum Grey - the whiteness is a bit too stark and battleshippy for Tyranids imho.

Whatever you go for, I'm sure it'll look terrific S-H. Good luck with whatever you choose!

I was thinking of something similar to the effect shown in THIS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJaW_rQIS_s) video by Duncan @ 08:00 - 09:00. I actually think the colours he has used could work with the pointy bits of your Nids as well.

I see what you mean, Alienscar. Will experiment with it. Thank you so much for the effort, mate. Every night scotch night? Bwahaha!! As much of a hoot that would be, no. Try for weekly, more often than not fortnightly.

Will give some different ideas a go with some Hormaguants and see what you think... Cheers, pointy ears!!

G'day, Forumites!
Ok, why the name change? A mate of mine found this baby King Brown in his loo. These beauties grow to about 3 meters long.

Being a Saim-Hann player, he blamed me. Jinksing his loo by having serpents scattered all over the pointy ears. He also informed me that Saim-Hann was the name of the snake/Satan in the garden of Eden.

Ben being a reliable bloke, I took him at his word and being a Christian,(except on scotch night), I removed all the decals from the skimmers and changed my code name to Casual. Was about to apply Void Dragon symbols on the skimmers when a fellow church goer told me that Ben got it wrong.

Sam-Hain was a mythical Halloween character... Doh! So now we're back to Saim-Hann. This 1500pts worth is only base coated. Want to give them a test drive at the LGS next week before I finish them.

Have a bucket load of the original Jetbikes with the riders converted to the new Guardians.

Then the new reaver bikes came out and I wanted my pointy ears to have the same kind of thing so I bought a box set of 3 reavers and a box set of 3 Windriders. $150 later and this was the end result.

2 months later GW came up with these... Doh!!

So this post tells you I'm not the sharpest gamer around. Can go back to Saim-Dann so I'll put it to the vote. Do I go back to Saim-Dann or stay with Casual?

That snake in the toilet is hilarious... but dang, what an odyssey! I of course vote for Saim-Dann. Its funny and it tells everyone your favorite CW and faction.

My only question is.... how are you gonna paint these guys? Are you gonna go with a black variant or are you gonna lay some red down?

I noticed you layed down all the transfers which would seem to indicate you aren't gonna airbrush them red... but surely you aren't gonna brush paint these bad boys? I highly recommend against that... It'd be a much shorter road to simply remove those transfers and airbrush them than it would be to brush paint them.

If you are looking to avoid the airbrush definitley just go up a shade and use GW Mephiston Red spray and save yourself the hassel.

I think I'm going to commission painter anxiety mode! lol.. but I am fascinated to know how you are gonna approach these guys....

Its an AWESOME collection of models, all out Saim-Hann so it should be a blast to play. Looking forward to hearing your approach on painting them bud. And finally... BRING BACK SAIM DANN!!!  ;D

My vote is also for Saim-dann especially after reading the reason for the name change. I don't see the connection between the story and the name Casual and I have a suspicion that you meant Causal, as in you were the cause of the snake being in the WC. Unless of course there is a bit of the story you haven't told us and you casually had a piss whilst the snake was still there. In that case you deserve the name casual.

1. A snake in the toilet is the exact reason I don't fancy a trip down under.

2. Bring back Saim-Dann. Cool name that made sense.

3. Your mate seriously needs to clean his whole toilet area.

G'day Cavalier!
Am actually going with the black craftworld. I really like the style of the Void Dragons plus I'm the laziest gamer EVA! Went with the mechanized list because am over painting troop after the 20/30 man units of the Nids.

Yes, mate, I did copy your idea of two crimson hunter exarchs. You sold it well and I know a few local gamers that it will annoy to no end. The vypers will be wielding brightlances if playing a 1000pt list. If the game is 1500pts then the anti-tank will fall to the CHE's and the vypers will carry two shuriken cannons each, (18 S6 rending shots with guide and doom).

Anyhoo, thanks for the feedback and ideas, Cavalier... Pointy ears forever!!

Hey, Alienscar!
None of the above yarn was tied into the name Casual. I just always like that nickname. I'm just glad me mate spotted the little fella before sitting down. There's no way anybody would be sucking the poison out from there... Be well!

Hi, Dog of War!
Done and dusted, mate. Back to Saim-Dann it is.

G'day, Looshkin!
Come and visit, mate. Get a tan, learn to surf, find an Aussie woman, (or two), and go camping in the bush. Don't worry about the snakes, Looshkin. They're too busy hiding from the spiders. Even the sea snakes won't bother you when surfing. The sharks ate'm all. Come on down under, mate. You know you want to... Be well!

Won't be stashing the bickies in the office cabinet again...

I think your friend was joking, the snake is never given a name, it is always referred to as a type of animal such as "serpent".

Stop cross breeding your 'nids with spiders, they are creepy enough :)

Haha what an odyssey! For my 2c, I vote for Saim-Dann too :)

Believable though. A lot of pre-Christian pagan mythology wound up demonised in medieval Christianity as a way to cast non-Christians in a negative light. The devil himself is likely based on the Greek Pan, for instance.

G'day, all!
40K night at the LGS. 1500pts of Saim-Hann looking a little like this...

Facing off Grey Knights looking a lot like this...

The mission: No mercy.
Both sides deployed everything onto the table with zero reserves and the Eldar went first.

Brightlance fire from the CH Exarchs, Vypers, and Hornets reduced all three Imperial flyers to their lowest damage bracket. The 40 shots of scatter lasers from the two jetbike units took down the first flyer. No charges

All Imperial hvy weapons were reduced to five plus to hit. The Eldar lost one jetbike and two wounds from a flyer.

Eldar's 2nd turn saw the end of the last two Imperial flyers, two units of Palatin knights, there Warlord, plus one of the flyers exploded and took out half the other unit of Palatin Knights. Eldar also lost another jetbike from said explosion.

This being the remnants of the Grey Knights...

... the Imperial player conceded. Four Paladin Knights remained Vs two jetbikes destroyed.

Notes: I thought the Warp Hunter with the indirect fire of its S10 weapon would have been the key here, however, it was the Crimson Hunter Exarchs and the jetbike scatter lasers that won the day. Thank you Cavalier for the inspiration on the flyers. They were a hoot.

Nothing really had to be moved up. The Eldar could have just sat back and delivered the same damage, but that would have bored me to tears. The battle had gathered a lot of attention so I doubt the Saim-Hann will have such an easy run next time. I hope not anyway. Looking forward to the challenge.

Have just finished watching Star Wars The Last Jedi, so that's the reason for the"Imperials", comments instead of Grey Knights. Thanks for popping in and having a read... Pointy ears forever!!

Agree with you entirely, however, I can't blame them in this game. Out of the entire list, I'm only experienced in wielding the vypers. Everything else was a learning curve.

With a few more games with this list am sure I'll find the synergy for all the units to work together. Thanks for reading, mate... Pointy ears forever!!

Very nice win Dann. Great to see those Crimson Hunters and the Jetbikes doing work. Just ripped him right apart. Awesome to see the Warp Hunter in there too... with this kind of army I think it should hang in there alright as staying out of LOS while the heavy hitters (Jetbikes and Flyers) should divert attention. Great to see Vypers in there too. Definitely thinking about picking up some at some point. I'd love to get Bright Lances on them.

Anyway great stuff Dann. Keep those bat-reps flowing!

Thanks, Cavalier!
Actually, mate, once the GK flyers were dispensed with, was looking for more ant-troop. So next battle the Vypers will be armed with scatter lasers and shuriken cannons, (21 S6 shots, 9 potential rending). There is more than enough anti-tank for the Eldar not to miss them on the Vyps.

We've both heard a lot of negative press about the Vypers but it makes sense for Saim-Hann to adopt these heavy hitting jetbikes. Thanks for dropping by, Cavalier. Trying to line up a narrative battle next Thursday so keep an eye out for that... Pointy ears forever!!
