How can they threaten to take you to court over it?

Harassment (we sent 3 e-mails), demanding that they ship a new model for "free" and we threatened to tell people to stop ordering from them. To be fair, I am actually doing this as we speak.

Any chance of getting the first post updated?

I was looking at Christmas shopping and quite a few of the UK shops appear to no longer exist.

www.nugaming.com -they still have a website, but it is under construction, has not been updated since 2008 and they did not respond to email. (sad, because I have bought quite a bit of stuff from them in the past)

www.game-mart.co.uk returns a url not found

www.oraclegames.co.uk/catalog/index.php returns a 404 not found, then if you strip it back to the root url you get some generic miniature related text- but no shop or contact details

Rattle Head Games/
Don't sell GW stuff, but okay shipping in the US and they carry Pig Iron products, and many others. Had several transactions with them, all good.

I just wanted to do a fallow up on a Battle Foam order I had put in. I did order the 1500 unit case with custom foam. The quality is excellent, however you can without a doubt tell the order was rushed because they did screw up a-lot of the custom cut foam. The folks there are redoing it all for free so I give them props. I will do a fallow up once the correction is made.

Anyone has experience with the mail order service of this UK bases shop:

http://www.darksphere.co.uk/

Some guys on this forum buy their stuff there but they live next to the shop, so I was wondering if their mail order service is any good and if they have full stock. Their discount is 25% and their shipping seems not too expensive to Europe.

Any other good webshops for Europe?

Hi,
I have not used darksphere, but I have used

http://www.maelstromgames.co.uk/

They have 10-15% discount on all items and free worldwide postage provided you spend more than £10. If you sign up for their newsletter, every few months they send out a code to give you the full 15% off of nearly everything.

I have ordered from them quite a few times now and had no problems. In addition, they have a physical shop with a large gaming hall built on the side (30+ tables) so you support a shop that has community involvement too.

Thanks Spider! Their site looks really good and free shipping to EU is a big plus; I'll order something soon.

I've also used Maelstrom several times and they've always delivered no problem.

It's well worth signing up for the newsletter as spider mentioned - they find fairly regular excuses for yet another 15% discount code.

They also have a moneyback system which adds up 1% of each order spend. Once you reach a minimum of £1, you can apply this additional saving to your next order (on top of the discount code).

anyone have any dealings with http://www.giftsforgeeks.org.uk/?
they have some of the cheapest stuff i have seen around. just wondering if they ship outside the UK.

I have ordered from them repeatedly, and i got good service outside of the UK. Depending when you order they might ship the next week, that might be dependant on the availability of merchandise also.

So they have a plus from me as they offer good service and cheap prices (20% under GW site)

Hoard o Bits: Recently ordered some sponson sets and other bits, while their prices are good and they have some excellent options for conversion, their shipping is slow, I never got a response from their customer service when I contacted them and their website can be hard to use. They seem to prefer selling through their ebay store. I can't help but appreciate the access to their vehicle sprues when they're actually in stock though. Hoard 'O Bits -1

Spikey Bits:
Good discount, great shipping, it's by the guy who founded Battle Wagon bits! Just picked up my 6th edition codex and munitorum templates for the total cost of a new codex from GW or the FLGS. Spikey Bits Home Page +5

Black Dagger Games: WFB Fantasy Accessory Bits, WFB Single Figures items in Blackdagger Games store
an ebay only store this is my go to for individual and occasionally bulk bits. I can't count the number of times I've bought from them and every experience has been /extremely/ positive. Fast shipping and excellent service, $3 combined shipping on all bit orders.

Do not use the following:

maelstromgames.co.u k or EYE OF THE STORM

See this thread. I had to make a claim with paypal after they didn't answer a single email or phonecall in over a month.

PLEASE do not use them. The Warhammer Forum • View topic - Maelstrom not answering emails or the

The best thread I found covering Maelstrom is on Dakka:

Maelstrom Games taking the biscuit? - Page 32 - Forum - DakkaDakka

if you don't want to wade through 30+ pages, here is a quick summary:

1) Maelstrom had massive debts (£100s of thousands)
2) They have been cut off by many of their suppliers (including GW, Wryd and others)
3) Paypal stopped dealing with them
4) They were not shipping anything that was not in stock, just keeping people's money
5) they ran an increasingly desperate series of sales (up to 80%) to clear remaining stock.
6) the website is now disabled
7) they "sold off" the gaming store and banelegions ranges so these are still running (possible until the receivers get them....), although the same guy runs all three.
8 ) they refused to reply to any form of contact (email/phone/recorded letter)

They have now almost certainly gone bust.

If you ordered stuff not in stock I would suggest filing a PayPal complaint or contest the charges on your credit card- you won't see your stuff
If you ordered stuff from the sale you may get it if it is now in the post.

I submitted a claim through PayPal to get my money for Dark Vengance back. I also got all the stuff I ordered from the clearance sales with no problems.

Avoid Maelstrom games, the Eye of the storm webstore and possibly Mierce Miniatures (who produce Banelegions) like the Plague. Lots of people have lost money and there was a fair amount of deception and dodgy practices going on at the end (false reasons for the sales etc). I am not sure if they were incompetant or fradulent, but either way, you don't want to trust them with your money.

TripleHelixwargames .co.uk are good for the UK. 20% Discount and free Shipping. It takes a while but works out cheap. Don't ever bother phoning them though they never pick up. Emails get answered in a day or so though.
