the dark eldar, harliequins and exodites shuld have some form of assassin. Anyone got any ideas?
(and i don't want reasons why they shouldn't have assassins, just ideas)

It's being discussed on pages 3 and 4 of the "Dark Eldar Avatar" thread.

I suppose it could be discussed here as well, if you wish.

and cw Eldar don't need one? There should be general purpose Eldar mercinaries of some description. (not kroot). Freelance, slightly powerful and assasinish Eldar.

the generalised idea sounds good but that would really turn out to be the exodites or the rangers which i have allready compiled ideas for on p3 of the "dark eldar avitar" post ok :) check it out

That's the reason I took some distance from it, i'm the one who started the post, but they wanted to make it too strong. My initial idea was based on imp assassin with some changes. But they wouldn't listen. That's the difference between gw rules and rooky rules a rooky only looks at if he can win with it.

I did have them, but i've given up.
The psyker assassin should be able to use mind war on psykers, the cc would get a flip belt and one of the following: a stinging like sword, a poisoned blade like sword. The sniper would get a bright lance/dark lance like gun, with sniper ability( not too sure about that one though.

Really, I think they just need to make Mandrakes a bit more useful... they're kind of pathetic as it is now.

That would be enough... either make them stronger, or faster, or cheaper, or let them take characters... as it is, all they have is the special character Decapitator, who doesn't even have an official model - he has to be converted.

DE don't *need* an assassin... they don't even really need Mandrakes, but it'd be nice if these rather cool units could have some value to an actual army.

it's the only reason to make new units, to make a force more personal and more fun

well, if we have super powerful assians than its not like we will have permission to use them in a games workshop battle or get it in a codex so we can know thare status. 8)

Why not use the 'hide in unit' rule like the Dark Elves?
Seeing as D Eldar are the D Elves' 40k descendants, I think that would fit in with the character of a DE army.
What do you think?

I for one DON'T think ;D

where did that Disagreeassin come from?
 m y   assassin:
0-1 Assassin
WS BS  S  T A  W  I  Ld  SV
 4    4   3  3  2  2  6 10  3+

1 per squad

Base Cost-50

Armament options
1.) Sniper- +1 BS, -3 init.
Weapons: Eviscerator- as Shrieker Cannon with 36" range and AP1. Auto Glance Open Topped vehicles, can't affect fully armored vehicles

+20 points

2.) CC aspect- +4 WS - 4 BS +1 strength, no save vs ranged, 3+ invulnerable in CC, 12" charge, +1 attack. May be upgraded to have a 4+ save against ranged attacks for +10 points
Weapons: Harlequin's Kiss. Power Weapon, plasma grenades

+35 points

Independent Character:
you know the deal

Despised:
these Eldar loathe most other beings, including other eldar. They fight alongside them only because they are forced to. as such they may not be less than 8" away from any friendly squad. if forced to do so due to assaults, fall back, etc. then roll a D6. On a roll of 1 they go berzerk and attack the nearest unit to them in every phase(they shoot it in shooting, assault in assault etc.) If this unit is in assault during this effect, nothing happens from it.

I think it's fair b/c if you want the CC dude to even make it through the first turn he costs 95 points, and the Sniper's gun, though nice against infantry, can't do a thing to most vehicles. I've played using these before, the CC guy got shot up pretty bad. the Sniper did decent. I tried again using the CC in cover, and he finally got there after the 4th turn. he did pretty well, though since it was 'nids he wound up failing a save(lets see YOU stand up to 24 attacks w/o flinching) versus a squad of Genestealers. he did well though
