Welp, I know I am only one of maybe three DE players, but here is their first bit of rules preview!

Codex: Drukhari Preview ? Assembling Your Raiding Party - Warhammer Community

Very excited for this

This looks really cool. So you'll need to part out <KABAL>, <CULT>, and <COVEN> units into their own small detachments, but the Drukhari rules will support running many small detachments. Sounds like a unique force organization scheme that could be a lot of fun.

Yup! And Three warlord traits! Here is to hoping they are good traits and improved stats!

Very exciting tidbit indeed. Certainly seems a push to get players to pick up more hq choices. Right now they seem almost a tax, but by encouraging patrol detachments by gifting command points and allowing for multiple warlords (traits only) adding more hqs, especially if they tweak their abilities and points, would be very enticing.

Even if we just kept the three traits we currently have it would be worth it with that strat. Giving exploding 6's to Lelith without sacrificing her to a throw away Slay the Warlod would be very nice indeed.

Quite an intriguing start.
I like the idea of being able to take 3 seperate detachments of different types of units but still get some command points.
Really looking forward to todays preview as it's the Kabalite stuff that appeals to me most.

Codex Drukhari Preview: The Kabals - Warhammer Community

I'm honestly impressed, that looks both really fun to play around with and potentially extremely dangerous to face in a tournament.

Splinter racks - Check
Command point recycling - Check
Multiple ways to play a Kabal - Check

Was very worried we would get one or two ways per Kabal, Coven, Cult... but if we get 4 each.... damn! 12 different obsessions? That is quite an army you can make. Hell, I almost want to do 3 patrols of just Kabals reading this!

If Bikes can still take the 2" drug, plus the 3" from the Flayed skull.... Or Hellions... or even the transports... wow.

Blasters going up to d6 damage just made Blaster-born a real threat! They were good before but now.... ouch! And let's make them part of the Obsidian Rose to give them a 24" range!

But most of all to me, it is this Stratagem.. Failure is not an option. High risk. High Reward. That is how DE should play. You want your heaviest hitters to be the ones selected to run, so they can shoot / attack and if they kill a single model, no one flees!!!

I have to say, I am impressed. And I have been very cautious on this due to the history of DE and GW

Its the Wych Obsessions that I'm most hyped about. One in particular... as soon as it drops (and I'm praying its in the preview) I'll jump in and start discussing.

While I can't confirm how many obsessions there will be... people who are keen on running themed armies are going to go crazy with this dex.

All I can say is... I'm starting a Wych Cult.... Corsair themed of course!

You are killing me Cav!

I am not as excited about the coven traits, just don't like the models... But damn! Carnival of pain is back!

Best I can come up with is - 3 from nearby units of Dark creed, then - 1 from pfp if that's still a trait of it..., and - 1 from pgl (or as I like to call it, the marshmallow launcher... Nothing is more hilarious to me than killing big models with it... Best so far has been abadon the black), then - 1 from the strat for killing the enemy warlord in cc...

So in de alone that is - 6. Sure, go ahead and re-rollijg your morale test.hopijg we might have some weapons that wound off morale :) :) :)

And I am gonna guess 10 as the total number of obsessions. 4 kabal, and three cult and coven

Gotta be honest I'm not as sold on the Coven obsessions as I was with the Kabalite. I do think that the majority of my army is likely to be Kabalite as it's going at the moment.
I do quite like the leadership shenanigans though. Interested to see if they makes any changes to Talos stats/points as that was a bit of a killer for me.

I really hope the Cult rules are cool. I've always wanted to do a Dark Eldar biker gang with Hellions and Wyches and Reavers, but it's never been viable w/o tons of Kabalites. Crossing fingers that Hellions got better and Reavers got a LOT cheaper!

DE are getting some serious boosts here, some really scary combo's. This is sounding like a narrative group had some input into making themed armies, rather than the slap happy rules for other races.

Any of these special rules flow into Ynari forces or did they close that loop hole?

This was the preview I've been waiting for. Wych Cults are so good. Cult of the Red Grief Reavers are gonna be a huge thing. Especially with the boost to Blasters. The cool thing about it is, that with combat drugs you can kit them out to be real specialists.

How about +2 Strength Hellions for Cursed Blade? With their super awesome morale you can take big units of them and really make a mess of things.

Wych Cult armies are just gonna be so good. They are the ultimate interference army... and particularly with the Red Grief... if your opponent screws up on deployment they are gonna be all over you (like a good Dark Eldar should).

There are a couple of things I wish they hit on, with the preview because it'd sort of highlight how good Wych Cults have become, but oh well. Gotta wait for the dex!

@Wydrr- They really are amazing. They have unbelivable speed, dirty tricks, and most importantly he offense to actually hurt stuff. Whats more is there is good variety in their lists too. I can see Cult fans actually having multiple Cults in a single army. Cursed Blade Hellions, Red Grief Reavers.... plus it'd look amazing in complimentary color schemes.

Now that all 3 sub-factions have been revealed I can safely say that the 3 Dark Eldar subfactions could really be codices unto themselves. They play so radically different from each other and the model range is so unique. So stoked for Dark Eldar

Just wished GW stopped this more HQ-herohammer and detachment inflation. :/

... my army sucks at X so I am going to take a X unit from X army to make up for it... yawn.  Play your bloody army, if you don't like it play something else.

Either way we are a bit bland atm compared to other so anything that increase dynamics is good :)

As long as I am able to get get up in the oppents face and kick ass without annoying hassels I will be fine. :)

Nice to see that they did realize that wyches needed one more Attack.

Codex Drukhari Preview: Stratagems - Warhammer Community

Agents of Vect is a bit too powerful and too easy to pull off. I don't mind the idea of being able to prevent an opponents stratgem from going off, but this is one of those devices that should have been thought about at the start and been a universal thing. As is, too many armies have to rely on stratagems to be competitive.

I will be interested to see Drazhar details in the new codex.

It is powerful, you're correct; however, I'm not sure that it will be the lynchpin of any tournament armies. It's a hefty CP cost, and there's always that dreaded 1/6 chance of spending 3 CPs for nothing. There's also the fact that most Stratagems that you'll be trying to counter will cost fewer CPs, so you'll always be in CP debt.

Powerful, yes. Used well, potentially a game winner...but there's always that chance that nothing happens, your opponents Stratagem goes off successfully and you're left with a 3 CP hole in your wallet. That could lose you a game right there.
