Trying my hand at a Ulthwe' army
« on: May 15, 2005, 10:38:52 PM »
i have only played a few games ever and i want to pick up a craftworld and i think Ulthwe' is a good choice.

i have:
18 guardian defenders
1 heavy weapon platform
1 falcon
1 vyper
8 howling banshees
1 HB exarch
1 farseer
1 warlock

I am going to buy a seer council but i dont know what els to buy, I want to get warp spiders because I have heard nothing but good things about them, I want to make a 1000 pt army. what would you suggest i get next?

I dont know much of the Ulthwe rules but this is what works well for me and my playing style at 1000pts
Well I like to have a solid anchor in my eldar lists.
So i usuualy include 2*18gaurdian squads with platform of choice
2*warlocks so i can conceal both squads
a farseer
a falcon(the star cannon and crystal targetting matrix works well for me so it can dodge in and out of cover)
a unit that has an exarch in it(usualy what ever im favoring at the moment)
and another unit of my cosing usualy rangers or a wraithlord(with brightlance because or high BS skill)
Every action has a cause and effect.

seer council is a perfect start but hen maybe branch of to fire dragons. A unit of six in the falcon can be great hunters for...well just about anything. I've had nothing but good things come from the dragon/falcon combo. Throw a starcannon and shurrican (sp?) cannon on it and you have a great support fire tank.
