Pretty much anyone with MSN in their profile are "open"  for conversation. That is why that is there. Add the person and start chatting.

One thing though; don't add anyone if you don't want to talk to that person. That is just rude.

Also, at least for me, start with introducing yourself. Never start a message by "Hi, I'm [so and so-username]." Actually tell me who you are, or I am just going to keep asking until you leave or tell me. It is just rude to not introduce yourself.

??? hmm have i offended you in anyway? if so sorry but if i come online and dont manage to say hi (cause have few contacts..) but yeah i normally start with my converstations with Hello are you busy?

msn is fickle... you get logged off without saying goodbye and stuff. So just bear with me..if you want to chat with me.

No, of course not. Since we were discussing MSN I just thought I would share my view on some basic chat-etiquette.

That kind of hard to avoid saying without seeming rude. What are we suppose to do then?[/color]

The reason my MSN and AIM address is in my profile is so peopel can add it and talk to me, if I didn't want people talking to me I wouldn't have it shown ;).

The simplest is just to go "Hi, I'm Mark, or BubonicPlague84474 on 40konline. How are you?"

Wow, I don't think I ever bothered to introduce myself to you...  However, the fact that the only time you're ever on MSN at the same time you're usually busy may have something to do with it.

Anyway, anyone who wants to talk can feel free to add me.

Heh, Rasmus actually forgot to ask me, I've had him on MSN a month or so and he forgot to ask my name :D. Only realised it a day or two ago when we were talking about this thread I think.
