At the time of the fall the Eldar of the Mael-Kali did not flee far. They built a craftworld and travelled to just outside the newly created Eye of Terror.
While Kaela Mensha Khaine was battling Slannesh, the Mael-Kali did not flee. They stayed and battled the forces of Slannesh for weeks, fighting of f many waves of warriors in Slannesh's service. They were led not by a farseer, but a great Exarch named Kilaenel. After weeks of war, the Eldar finally prevailed. Kilaenel had earned himself the title of "The Black Flame" for his efforts in battle. Slannesh had defeated Khaine, but not the Mael-Kali.
The remnants of the Chaos hoards retreated to the Eye of Terror and stayed there. Khaine smiled upon the Mael-Kali, their numbers were very low though and most of the Bonesingers were dead. They needed to repair their craftworld though but they had neither the resources nor expertise. It was then that Kilaenel received a massage from the spirit of Khaine himself; he was to lead the remaining eldar to Ynarth, a remote planet in the middle of Segmentum Tempestus where they would forge one of the greatest Eldar civilisations in the name of Kaela Mensha Khaine.
Kilaenel did as Khaine ordered him; he got all of the remaining Eldar onto escape ships, abandoning the damaged craftworld they flew off in search of Ynarth. Kilaenel received guidance from Khaine whenever they he needed it and after a long journey the Eldar reached their new home.
Ynarth is mostly covered with dense forest, in some places; mountains stick up out of the sea of green. It had everything the Mael-Kali needed, including plenty of wraithbone.
The Eldar of Mael-Kali Cleared vast areas of forest and built great cities with wraithbone temples and towers. On the mountains they built citadels of adamant to defend the planet from alien menaces. They also built four craftmoons that now orbit the world as a first defence and an emergency escape system. The numbers of the Mael-Kali soon replenished, and in a few decades they were flourishing.
The Mael-Kali worships Kaela Mensha Khaine over all of the Eldar gods and there are many shrines to him all over Ynarth. The biggest is in the Capitol City at the top of a tall mountain, 1000 steps lead up to the temple and many go there often to worship Khaine. The Symbol of the Mael-Kali
The symbol of the Mael-Kali is made up of three elements.
1.The sword is the Wailing Doom, blade of Khaine.
2.The black flames represent Kilaenel- Exarch general of the craftworld.
3.The circles represent the 4 craftmoons that orbit Ynarth.
The Mael-Kali in Battle
As the Mael-Kali worship Khaine, many take the path of the warrior. The army is not made up of mostly of Aspect Warriors like the Beil-Tan. The guardians are trained in the art of war too like the Ulthwé.
The whole army fight in the same battle colours. Their armour on their bodies is red, and their helmets are black for guardians or gold for Aspect Warriors. This shows that they fight not as individual soldiers, but a unified army.
The Mael-Kali do not have a preferred fighting style, they fight in the best way against the particular enemy. Although many take the path of the warrior, there are only 4 shrines on the planet of Ynarth.
The Shrine of Asur: This is the largest shrine on the planet, dire avengers make up the majority of the Mael-Kali army. They are tactically flexible and well trained warriors.
The Shrine of Fuegan: The second largest shrine on the planet. The fire warriors are used as tank hunters and medium range support.
The Shrine of Jain Zar: The Howling Banshees are the close combat specialists of the Mael-Kali, always on the front line.
The Shrine of Baharroth: The Mael-Kali does not use Jetbikes or Vypers instead, they use Swooping hawks. Their lasblasters rain fire down on the enemy from above.
