Those endless spells are brilliant Cap! I love them both, but the Bad Moon really, really pops. I love it!

Thanks guys!  I’m really glad you like them!  :)

I’m trying to keep up the pace, and so I’ve started work on the Loonking himself:

The inks are still wet on him lol.  Also as you can see, I’ve painted him purple.  Because he’s The King.  ;D

And the spells were finished off too:

I’ll aim to keep up this pace and finish the king and the shaman asap.  Thanks again!

Looking great Calamity, the mushroom skull looks really smooth, is it a gloss varnish on it?

Thanks magenb, glad you like them!  And you might be surprised to hear that’s no varnish on the mushroom at all!  Just regular paint, thinned down and layered.  ;D

Personally, I think it looks a little flat and thus it might need some work to make it pop as much as the moon.

I’ve continued work on the King.  So far so good but he’s got such a gap on his cloak.  A real cock up.  :(

Also I got my hands on these:

Shootas from the old Skull Pass box.  Great stuff, great poses, will make the unit more unique, but I can’t abide that spray job on them.  Anyone know the best way to strip paint off plastics?  And how to handle those gaps on the bases?

Hey bud, looking good. Love my night gobbos. For removing paint use simple green. It might take a few days but how i do it is soak for a day, use a tooth brush the scrub them. If not enough, let soak for another 24 hrs and repeat. I had one model that took a week and some others that just took an evening. As for the gap, green stuff or model builders putty. Also an old trick, mix baby powder in some old paint like a paste and apply. Ive also used Elmer's glue to fill the little areas on the bases especially if I'm putting ballast on it.

Keep 'em coming. 8)

That king is looking great Cap. I can see what you mean about the cloak, but I wouldn't worry too much...I only keyed in on it after you mentioned it. Most will be looking at other details and probably not even see the cloak seam. That said, some green stuff should tidy it up and you'll be able to paint over it easily enough, so it can be rectified...althoug h as you say, it's a bit frustrating.

I like the oldschool minis too. Good luck stripping the paint; I've never tried stripping paint, so can't offer any advice I'm afraid.

Great advice, thank you guys!  ;D

I’ve not done any serious painting in a while (distractions are coming from everywhere) but I did manage to assemble some Boingrot Bounders:

Weirdly, I appear to be missing the parts for 5 of them.  ???

And just for fun I put all my stabbas together in one max sized unit to see what it’ll look like:

It looks threatening imo.  8)

Your not wrong. When lots of wee peeps are coming at ya with pointy things it can be overwhelming. For instance a porcupine by itself is intimidating but a bunch, whew.

Quantity has a certain quality of its own after all. ;)

Quick update; no new painting done (time thieving people everywhere  :P) but I have just received my latest delivery; more squig hoppers, a loonboss on a giant cave squig and sneaky snufflers.  Looking forward to making them all!  ;D

can't wait to see how you paint these up.

Nothing beats a gobo army for character, which is why 40k needs a gretchin army :)

Thanks!  Also I agree on the need for a 40K Gretchin army 100% lol

Update; I have for the most part, finished his highness the king:

Might still need to sort that gap out.

Also, can’t forget the Lions:

I’m looking to see if I can spice up the base somewhat before applying the texture paint.  Also I need to find suitably sized chapter badges for it.  He’s looking a little plain in comparison to the infantry lol.

Thanks magenb, much appreciated!  :)

I’ve still been hard at work on the fanatics but I’ve also made significant progress on the Loonboss:

This mini was a joy to work with; lots of different things going on yet very easy to paint.  I’m hoping to finish it today.

Holy smokes! Love the purples so much on them. The doomy/gloomy theme is spot on. I'll be adding to my vast night gobbos soon.

Thanks magenb!  I wasn’t sure I was doing them right tbh so this is very reassuring!  ;D

Cheers Myen’Tal!  I wanted all of my Grots to look damp, filthy and sweaty.  ;D

Thanks Dread!  I look forward to seeing yours!  :)

I’ve been continuing the work.  Starting on the Cauldron:

and the fantatics!

I’ve also made more progress with the Boss.  I’ve done all I can do for the moment.  To paint the eye stalks on that shroom I’ll need more paints.  But here he is again:
