Imperial Guard fluff attempt
« on: July 8, 2008, 06:50:28 PM »
Allo everyone, I've decided to reboot by Imperial Guard fluff from it's previous incarnation to a whole new set up. It's still a work in progress so I'm going to need a bit of help.

Any help would be appreciated, please and thank you.

The Cadian 237th

The Thirteenth Black Crusade left many regiments drastically below strength. So much so the Departmento Munitorum began to integrate multiple regiments in an attempt to return them back into effective fighting formations. One of those regiments was the Cadian 237th, raised from the combined remnants of over ten different regiments and bolstered heavily with Whiteshields from the Cadian youth. The folding of multiple regiments into one fighting force was not without its fault. While the integration of two regiments is a risky business in itself, with the infighting making such an action counter-intuitive, it is at times necessary.  The merging of over ten different regiments and the addition of fresh recruits seem to be extremely risky at best. The 237th was not exempt from these problems.

Due these factors, the regiment’s early combat record was mixed at best. The heavily ravaged regiments suffered from the lack of good officers, while the Whiteshields were short on experience and unreliable. The “generation gap” between these two halves resulted in extremely poor performances in nearly all areas of combat. To make matters worse, even the veteran elements of the regiment fought among themselves as much as they did against the Whiteshields.

One of their few positive attributes was their ability to “rebound” from any disasters they ran into. And after several campaigns the 237th eventually began to slowly assemble itself into what seemed like a disciplined mob. And by the Fall of Medusa V, the Cadian 237th had finally proven themselves as a reasonable military force; becoming an efficient and disciplined fighting machine, so well as to make any commander proud. Unfortunately, just as the regiment had become a well oiled machine, it was reinforced with other regiments, beginning the cycle of infighting and tactical inefficiency all over again.

While not impressive, and quite probably comical, the regiment will fight on. And possibly one day become an elite fighting force worthy of the Emperor’s service.

Pictures will be shown eventually.

Good start, can't see any problems so far, interesting fluff. I'll be watching for the rest...
