40k flash animation on Newgrounds.
« on: December 2, 2007, 12:51:32 PM »
While browsing the net today I found a new, well animated, 40k flash on newgrounds.  Predictably, Smurfs are one of the sides(they are fighting eldar), but it still gave me the "I want to go play some 40k now" feeling after I watched it.

"Wahammer 40k tribute 2"

Link retured, just be aware that Newgrounds is a bit of a dodgey site, so you may want to notify people of that :).~MTWC

enjoy and discuss.

Fantastic! I want more!!!

I love it when the Wraithguard walks up and blasts that Marine!

A full length animated movie would be great, and there's plenty of material out there to work with....

Really well done but two questions come to mind:

1. Why don't these people breach GW's copyright but the guys from Damnatus do?

2. Why does the space marine throw away the Emperor's holy bolter?

Taking a very long break.

I think the issue was, Germany doesn't let people sign over their artistic property or something similar and GW wouldn't put them in their employ for a fan movie or something like that (don't quote me on that).  But this guy's giving his stuff away for free, and not making a profit on the GW/40k name.  It's not just because a movie exists GW didn't create.

Wow, what an Eldar tupenny shuffleathon. Nicely done though. A few issues but meh, good for them.

1. Why don't these people breach GW's copyright but the guys from Damnatus do?

It does breach GW's IP. Do you think they asked permission first? Of course not. Would they have to remove the product if someone wearing a stiff collared GW logo shirt asks them to? Sure. Is this likely? I highly doubt it.  Are the Damnatus zealots going to start getting all huffy again? Clearly it's already begun.

It was alright but I really dont think a Shuriken Catapult would hurt a Dreadnought.

Both are pretty good.  The first one's sound effects were a little off, but was well thought out.  Hehe I wish my warlock's witchblades could do what that one could.

I liked the second one better.  It was better drawn and timed.  Wraithguard are cool, and the disappearing bikes was a nice touch.

Just to let you guys know, there are a few 40k flash's on newgrounds, one if forget its name) is freggin funny "The emperor DEMANDS TACOS!!" ha.

This was awsome, but my fave is still the intro to dawn of war, if u havent seen it, google it, see it then flogg yourself. The warhammer fantasy movies are good to, especialy mark of chaos... oh goose bumbs ya?

I have been an advocate for a 40k CG movie for YEARS. Imagine the DoW intro with a new army being thrown in every 15 minutes eh? Every army gets the spotlight, everybody dies and we all win...

A good interpretation of the 40k universe, but a few things seemed a little weirdly scaled, such as the space marines (big heads, weirdly shaped bolters), and the wraithlord (how much damage does that shurican weapon want to do?)

Aside from that, it's good to see that GW doesn't feel like destroying every piece of fan-art out there.
