I write because I have always felt like I have a unfulfilled gap in my life. Seems writing about my favourite past-time fills it, also in a slight hope I can actually get xeno-force into a full on 40k playable space marine units. Like I saw a post here about a tyranid cult for a new 'race'.

I write because I personally find it fulfilling that the stuff I see in my mind can be shared with others, and know that someone out there, be it an experienced, wise writer, or that one six year old down the street with a massive vocabulary, might like it, even if it's just a little bit. And to know that, is what is satisfying for me.

I write so that hopefully I can get inspiration to finally finish that army I still have halfway still in the boxes.

Because my characters won't disembowel themselves.

That, and messing with religious nuts (e.g - all the staff at school) is funny.

To tell a great tale, and to finally get all of the crazy ideas out of my head and onto paper  :P

~Thal

Surrounded by your glory, what will my heart feel? Will I dance for you Jesus, or in awe of you be still?
Will I stand in your presence, or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing, 'Hallelujah'? Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine...

Even though I haven't written any 40k stuff, I write because I love writing.  Additionally, I really want people to like what I write, and, eventually, when I grow up (erk), I'd like to actually get paid for doing it.  Big ask, I know.  I'm not averse to praise, but a wise person once said "the crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but a man is tested by the praise he receives."  I'd hate to become so insecure that I write simply so that people will applaud and tell me how good I am.  I'd rather they throw cash at me, and tell me they hate it!  I'm hoping to get a few hours together over Christmas to maybe scribble some 40K stuff, so this won't be a completely pointless post!

I write because I can forge an idea, and work with it. I feel like the master of my own customizable ship: I can do whatever the heck I want with it.

Why do I write?

Because my creativity drips out of my nose and onto my keyboard.

Well, that and money, eventually! ;)

To breathe life into my armies. I find I play better when I care about the army.

For personal enjoyment. Much the same reason as above really but at the same time I also help myself improve on my english(which isn't my first language) as well my writing and grammar.

To share my view and perspective on the background.

Why do I post here, well other than sharing a store it is to recieve critique, praise or comments on the content of my stories(as my knowledge of background is nowhere near complete).

This sticky deserves some threadomancy.

I write to give myself hope in the world. There is so much pain around every corner. The destruction and the chaos sometimes bleeds into my writing, with much of it taking a decidedly tragic or existentialist direction. However, all of the sadness brings with it a certain hope. For every success that I pen onto paper I feel that I can do my part to inspire somebody, or at least myself, to continue fighting for what is right.

I love the fluff of Craftworld Kary-Tai and the trilogy I am working on; however, it is all meaningless without the faith I hope my stories give to the world.
If you go to this link I have a made a craftworld-kabal battle system that needs ironing out and testing. If you have any edit suggestions, please PM me or post in the thread.
