Title: Any news on the 40,000 MMO?
Post by: Eadartri on February 19, 2015, 09:18:30 PM
Thanks for the post on the Warhammer 40,000 MMO. Sounds like a lot of fun. I wonder if there will be mechanics for squad cohesion and leadership. I think I'd play a Fire Dragon and turn tanks into toasters. It will be fun to see how they do it. By the way, Mordheim: City of the Damned seems to be turning into an interesting game.

Mordenheim does look interesting (I was/am a big fan of XCOM). I'm eagerly awaiting the full release.

As for the 40K MMO, I'm very interested, but also somewhat skeptical. I almost never like what they do with MMO games, so we'll see. If I played, I'd almost certainly play Space Marines, though. I've always preferred a sense of balanced offense/defense to specialization in shooting games.

Eighteen months later we have a release date - September 23.

Early access reviews are not great but that's what early access is for after all.

Any idea if this is going to require a monthly subscription, or is it just the initial price we have to worry about?

I believe single price but with in-game transactions (Rogue Trader credits). The reviews are being brutal.

Now there's a free version for people to try out and see if anyone else salutes their flag.
