Dakka?
« on: February 19, 2002, 09:28:47 PM »
My newbie-ness is showing through again.  I see this word all the time used in some sort of colloquial fashion.  Around orks a lot of the time, but not always.  Usually I'm pretty good at ferreting out the implied meanings of words in context, but this is used in a lot of different places.  Would anybody mind running down the list of meanings and uses for this word please?
The pessimist says the cup is half empty. The optimist says it's half full. The pragmatist says its liquid contents are at 50% capacity. The ironist says it's half full of air. The plumber says the cup must be leaking. George Carlin says the cup is too big. The Starbucks employee says it's so you have room for cream. The conspiracy theorist says aliens took the other half. The baseball player says his cup is definitely full. MacGuyver says he can build a powerful explosive with it...

ok, I know orks very well for some reasons (I think they're cool, and my friend plays them a lot). And more dakka, and dakka in general refers to the sound that a machine gun makes when shot:

DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA

you know, like shooting, and stuff. It's thrown around a lot to mean shooting, killing, shooting a lot (the ork upgrade gives weapons an extra shot), and that sound

WAAAAGH!!!!
