We did have the battle, my 208 power points to his 209 power points. It was an all day battle. Started at 10am and lasted till a little after 8pm.
I think my son set a record with his umies. A one hour and 5 min shooting phase. Thats right
turn one, his shooting phase went on for a long time. I don't know if there is a GW world record book somewhere but he needs to be entered for longest shooting phase.
The orks won by victory points, but there was just too much to kill (although we did give it a good go). The umies outnumbered the orks.
As the shadow of the house started to cover the board (we played in the backyard on saw horses and plywood) we called it before the mosquitos would come out. The orks won 28 to 24. I quit taking batrep notes about halfway through the first turn, and just didn't pick it up from there. So no long batrep is forthcoming, sorry.
Highlights of the game, the ead woppa killed the ogre body guard with one swing of the ax, causing 6 mortal wounds, and Yarrick actually killed a boy with his laser eye (and survived the battle). Creed never got out of his chimera, and Ghorkrider killed his chapter master in one on one combat. The burna bomma actually wiped out three las cannon teams, and his super team of four meltas jumped out of the valkarie and then failed to hit the battle wagon full of flash gits. The guardsmen were wiped out by a nearby trukk full of shoota boys, and the flash gits with Badruck shot down the valkarie.
A good day, lots of ice tea and the whole family enjoyed watching us play.
We are planning a rematch, and this time we will most likely take notes for a batrep.
