Wow! They're coming along great. I'm hoping to play my Nighthaunts Sunday against lizards. Hope it happens but we're a little understaffed so I may have to go work. So if all goes well a game against Salamanders tomorrow night, against admech Saturday night the AoS sunday, hopefully but with Christmas right around the corner and work, may not happen.

Keep us updated, Dread ;D, especially want to know how that Nighthaunt vs Seraphon game goes. That's a matchup I haven't seen yet!

Progress on the Spite Horde continues! Plan is to get them finished by weekend's end.

Stage 2 Wyldwood:

Stage 2 Reached!

First completed Spites!

Volturnos progresses further! Still a couple things that need changing / more definition. But I like him in his current phase so far :).

The game went well. It was a draw. My main screw up was letting Lay Olynder get stuck out on her own, I think they need to revisit the ethereal rules, -1 to hit, they are ghosts after all. Anyhow, my dice went cold as well but the black coach, never leave home without it. So far I've played 3 games of AoS 2.0 all against lizards. 1 win, 1 lose and 1 draw. The army is fun to play and lizards fun to play against.

Awesome, glad you were able to get the game in, Dread  :). A shame the Dice Gods didn't favor you, but they are fickle masters, lol.

That's some nice loot you've acquired. Also great job on the painting; the scales on the seahorse look especially good to me.

Thanks, Nutty! Long time, no see! Yeah, I got way more than I expected this year lol!

And thanks about Volturnos, I think I'm finally getting the hang of dry brushing. For some reason, this simple technique has simply eluded me until recently lol.

@magenb: Yes! So excited to get this model assembled and painted! Agreed, Allarielle is still one of the most beautiful models created by GW.

And man, the base is the largest one I've ever seen. It has to be knight sized!

Happy New Year! Enter 2020! It's the Year of the Aelven Gods, I'd say ;D, for the time is nigh for Aelves to strike into the heart of their foes on the battlefield (at least for me :P)!

I'm also excited to paint the Everqueen. Still nervous on how I'm going to do it. I could follow tutorials or simply do my own thing, but I'm thinking a mix of both would be cool.

Happy New Year! And a long time indeed, my gaming group is playing a lot less these days and even less 40k when we do get together.. so painting motivation has been lacking lately. And I haven't been browsing forums a lot either. But I stopped by my local GW store the other day, and the community there seems to be a lot more active than it used to be. So that rekindled the hobby bug. :)

Speaking of bugs: that's an impressive looking beetle; I think it'll take to your painting style really well.

I'm glad to hear that the hobby is burning in your soul again, Nutty. Always a great feeling ain't it ;D? I know what it's like not having anyone in the area that games, from experience some years ago.

I've been experimenting with eel skins further!

Those eels look great; the orangy brown one is rather shiny though, I personally prefer the matte/satin look of the other two.

Looks like GW is about to drop another Elf army as well, kind of looks like they are bringing back the High Elves :)

@Nutty: Thanks! I actually agree with you about the orange eel. I didn't mean for him to look so...well, orange lol. Not certain how to tone it down without ruining the color.

Oh yes, that is actually what I'm officially saving for this year!

One of my goals is to also build a small 500 - 750 point Sister of Battle army.

Lofty goals... we shall see!

Army Update!

So, I've acquired the last few kits that I need to complete my Deepkin lists.

With the Christmas loot I received, my sylvaneth list are now officially complete. So, I'm done acquiring new stuff and shall be focused on painting what I have. I've also placed an order with Green Stuff World (huge order) for all of the basing materials I need + some of their special paints, which I have some ideas for.

I hope to make some major progress before the Hysh Aelves drop!!!

Sorry for the strange angle on the last pic! I'll have to go back and touch up all the models I primed today, as I tried to prime from a strange angle, so the primer didn't really cover the front of the models as much as I thought they did.

Hey bud! So either you have bionics or don't sleep, you're  a painting machine! I remember being young and that ambitious, keep it up, you're excitement keeps me motivated and others I suspect too.
