If it happens again grab a screen shot as the only ad like thing I've seen is the stop SOPA call to arms (a cause everyone of us should be supporting.)

the SOPA ad should only show once per computer visit to the site and is something that will only be displayed for a few weeks, as the vote is coming up soon.

Be aware that if google and facebook participate in the internet blackout in protest on the 23rd, we may as well...

I got the Congress pop-up.

I closed it immediately.  I opened the page again (from favorites bar) and the pop-up didn't appear, but a small banner near the top of the page persists.

it looks like the modal cookie is set to expire in 24 hours.... 

so, if you log in more than once per day, you should not see it the second, third, etc times... if you go directly to http://www.40konline.com/index.php?action=forum, you won't see it either
