Alrighty, so after that retreat and disbanding, the map going into Fall 1906 is as follows:

Will Turkey see Christmas or will their goose be cooked by Thanksgiving? Get your orders for the Fall turn to me by Midnight GMT on Wednesday 6th April to find out!

Orders are in. Turkey gets the expected shivving up and Italy clings on to its precarious existence for another year.

Austria:
A Bulgaria Supports F Aegean Sea - Greece
A Serbia Supports A Trieste
A Trieste Supports A Tyrolia - Venice
A Tyrolia - Venice
A Vienna - Bohemia

England:
A Belgium - Ruhr
A Holland Supports F Kiel
F Kiel Supports F North Sea - Denmark (*Cut*)
F North Sea - Denmark
F Norwegian Sea Hold (*Dislodged*)
A Yorkshire Hold

France:
A Burgundy Supports A Munich (*Cut*)
A Gascony Supports A Spain - Marseilles
F Mid-Atlantic Ocean - Western Mediterranean
A Munich Supports F Kiel (*Dislodged*)
F Naples - Rome (*Bounce*)
A Spain - Marseilles

Germany:
A Berlin - Kiel (*Fails*)
A Marseilles - Burgundy (*Dislodged*)
A Ruhr - Munich
F Skagerrak - North Sea

Italy:
F Adriatic Sea - Ionian Sea
A Venice - Rome (*Dislodged*)

Russia:
F Aegean Sea - Greece
A Armenia - Sevastopol
F Barents Sea - Norwegian Sea
F Constantinople - Aegean Sea
F Norway Supports F Barents Sea - Norwegian Sea
A Silesia Supports A Ruhr - Munich
A Smyrna Hold
A St Petersburg - Finland

Turkey:
A Greece Supports A Smyrna - Bulgaria (*Dislodged*)

All of which means that we say goodnight to Lockz of Turkey, thanks for playing and I hope you'll be in the next game. There is also plenty of dislodging going on:

The Turkish fleet in Greece can retreat to Albania but as they will be disbanded anyway in the builds phase it's not necessary as it can't affect other retreats.
The German army in Marseilles can retreat to Piedmont or it can disband.
The French army in Munich can retreat to Tyrolia or it can disband
The English fleet in the Norwegian Sea can retreat to Clyde, Edinburgh, North Atlantic or it can disband
The Italian army in Venice can retreat to Piedmont, Apulia, Tuscany or it can disband.

Note that if two or more units are ordered to retreat to the same province, then they are all disbanded instead (p18 of the rules).

Please get those orders to me ASAP and by PM rather than posting them in the thread - it's not so important if there's only one retreat or only a couple of retreats that won't affect anything else on the map, but in this case it's important to be secret. Also note that you are not supposed to discuss your retreats before submitting orders but there's obviously no way I can enforce that so you are on the honour system.

Would Germany like to give over control of its armies to its Austrian brothers?  We have cake.

Germany forfeits.

In Diplomacy, there is no surrender! You know what there is though? A nice juicy place in my game just waiting for you to carry it off into the Berlin Sunset.

More to the point, the Alliances really are out in full view here! Pretty early for that, I see some interesting times ahead.

I leave on 10 days fieldwork this Sunday. No computer access.
We've been moving along at a pretty respectable pace to date, so I hope asking for a short hiatus while I look at rocks wouldn't be out of order.

Cheers

Ok, so:
1: Lockz is now Uberfuhrer of all Germany
2: I'll push the deadline for the Spring 1907 turn back until two days after KT gets back.

Map will update once I get the final remaining builds in (including Lockz').

Builds are all now in and Lockz has taken stock of the dwindling German strategic reserves.

New armies in Vienna and Budapest while all the other nations with builds decide to expand their naval power. Fleets take to the seas in St Petersburg, London and Brest. Meanwhile the German Fleet in the North Sea, the German army in Piedmont and the Italian fleet in the Adriatic are all victims of ever tightening budgetary considerations.

Note that Russia had two available builds but chose to only use one.

Given that KT will be playing with pebbles for the next week and a bit, the deadline for the Spring 1907 turn is therefore Midnight GMT on Thursday 21st April.

As things stand, Russia is leading with 10 centres (just over halfway to a solo victory) while England, France and Austria are all in a dead-heat for second place with 7 centres apiece. I expect that things will get very interesting from here on out and even the weak nations may be able to strike a bargain that gets them back into the game.

The headquarters of the German government (conveniently for all the diplomats located in the Turkish embassy) is willing to work with its neighbours.

Orders are in after the break. Thanks for being so prompt after my short-notice reminder.

Austria:
A Bohemia Supports A Vienna - Tyrolia
A Budapest - Rumania (*Bounce*)
A Bulgaria - Rumania (*Bounce*)
A Serbia - Trieste
A Trieste - Venice
A Venice - Rome
A Vienna - Tyrolia

England:
F Denmark Supports F London - North Sea
F Edinburgh Supports F London - North Sea
A Holland Supports F Kiel
F Kiel Supports F Denmark
F London - North Sea
A Ruhr Supports A Burgundy - Munich (*Void*)
A Yorkshire Supports F Edinburgh

France:
F Brest - Mid-Atlantic Ocean
A Burgundy - Berlin (*Fails*)
A Gascony - Paris
A Marseilles - Piedmont
F Naples Supports A Venice - Rome
A Tyrolia Supports A Burgundy - Berlin (*Disbanded*)
F Western Mediterranean - Tyrolia (*Fails*)

Germany:
A Berlin Supports A Munich
A Munich Supports A Berlin

Italy:

A Finland - Sweden
F Greece Supports F Aegean Sea - Ionian Sea
F Norway - Norwegian Sea
F Norwegian Sea - Clyde
A Sevastopol Hold
A Silesia Supports A Munich
A Smyrna Hold
F St Petersburg(nc) - Norway

Despite all that confusion, there are no retreats to handle. The French army in Tyrolia is disbanded as it cannot retreat to anywhere and the map for the Fall turn looks like this:

This means that the orders for Fall 1907 are due by Midnight GMT on Monday 25th April. Get to it!

Orders are in! The clash of empires is heard throughout the Old World from the frigid seas of the north to the mountainous valleys of the south.

We say goodbye to Italy this turn also. Thanks for playing Faitherun, for your efforts you at least earn a survival point in the Diplomacy rankings.

Austria:
A Bohemia Supports A Munich
A Budapest - Rumania (*Bounce*)
A Bulgaria - Greece
A Rome Supports F Ionian Sea - Naples
A Trieste - Venice
A Tyrolia Supports A Venice - Piedmont

F Ionian Sea - Naples
F Norway Supports F Norwegian Sea - North Sea
F Norwegian Sea - North Sea
A Sevastopol - Rumania (*Bounce*)
A Silesia Supports A Munich
A Smyrna Hold
A Sweden - Denmark (*Fails*)

All of that looks like

And results in

There are retreats for both England and France before we can go to builds, as follows:

England (note that England will have to disband two units in the builds phase regardless):
F Kiel can retreat to Baltic Sea or Helgoland Bight or it may disband.
F North Sea can retreat to London or English Channel or Belgium or Helgoland Bight or Skagerrak or Yorkshire or it may disband.

France:
F Naples can retreat to Apulia or Tyrrhenian Sea or it may disband.
A Piedmont can retreat to Marseilles or it may disband.

Please get those retreats to me as soon as possible and remember that you are not supposed to confer during the retreats or builds phase of the turn.
