This kind of ration must be for people who are stationed for a long time with decent accommodations and logistical support. I can't imagine setting up a bivouac in the mountains and dragging out all those metal tins. However, it did definitely look edible. The duck sausage with beans in particular was something I'm kinda interested in.
Haha, also getting some flashbacks from all of those random tiny packets of cocoa, tea, soup, energy bars, etc. We used to split up the ration packets and put all of that stuff in their own little bag in the rucksack, and also steal those tiny packets of salt and pepper from the mess hall. A bit of spice does wonders after several days on the same stuff. And a bit of ice tea powder in the canteen makes it less depressing too, though too much of it and you'll start thirsting, which isn't ideal.
The chocolate pudding was a nice touch too. Definitely never had anything like that - though we had a pretty delicious dark chocolate bar.
