Lost and the Damned - 1000 Point List, advice appreciated.
« on: February 17, 2005, 09:35:02 PM »
Hi. I'm planning to make a Nurgle-themed warband comprised of all different kinds of plague-ridden heretics. Here's what i have:

1 CSM Aspiring Champion (HQ) @ 56 Pts
Mark of Nurgle; Power Fist (x1); Bolter (x1); Frag
     Grenades; Krak Grenades
     Frag Grenades [1]

21 Mutants (Troops) @ 192 Pts
Bloated; CC Weapon; Flamer (x1); Frag Grenades

1 CSM Aspiring Champion (HQ) @ 56 Pts
Mark of Nurgle; Power Fist (x1); Bolter (x1); Frag
     Grenades; Krak Grenades

21 Mutants (Troops) @ 192 Pts
Bloated; CC Weapon; Flamer (x1); Frag Grenades

5 Traitors (Troops) @ 60 Pts
Lasgun (x3); Heavy Bolter (x1); Heavy Stubber (x1); Frag Grenades

2 Obliterators (Elites) @ 140 Pts

7 Chaos Hounds (Fast Attack) @ 70 Pts

4 Chaos Spawn (Heavy Support) @ 80 Pts

1 Leman Russ Battle Tank (Heavy Support) @ 155 Pts
Battle Cannon; Hull Heavy Bolter; Heavy Bolter Sponsons

Total Army Cost: 1001

The Main bulk of the force is the hordes of mutants led by the champions, with the traitors infiltrating to set up a threatneing fireplatform on an enemy flank (and more importantly i need to have them to get the Leman Russ!) . The Chaos Spawn follow the mutants and add their D6 attack goodness. The Chaos Hounds make a cheap fast attack unit, which will need cover but should be pretty effective. The Leman Russ blows the hell out of vehicles and troops and the Obliterators deep strike in to shoot at whatever needs heavy firepower directed at it.

What do you think?

For a 1000pts that's a nasty list. However I would give the Traitors a Lascannon instead of the heavy bolter and heavy stubber. Also I'm not too sure on the effectiveness of the Chaos Spawn. If you get around to using them I wouldn't mind some feedback for my Plague based LatD army.

just gota say how good spawn can be, possibly best value for points in the game, can take a lascannon shot and stand, decent armour, can mash up th weakest vehciles well, and most units in general given time and numbers. my only dilemma is fitting them fluffwise into my latd traitor force (mutant army already has them lol)

The issue I see is with the 5 man Traitor unit.  If they take a casualty there is a very high chance of them running away.  Either give them an Agitator, another Aspiring Champion, or a few more Traitors.  Though, if all you wanted them for was to get the Leman Russ, then damn the consequences.
