As always, your eye for color really shows. The texture is solid, the skin looks smooth. You just get better and better. Keep it up.

I can echo Dread's comments, great choice of colours. The skintone on the far right model is stellar and you did a wonderful job with the highlights. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the feedback, guys :). I'm experimenting with different techniques, brushes, primers, etc. It's been good expanding my knowledge on brushwork and color on primer choice. I think it's making a quantum leap of difference in how my schemes are turning out :).

Also, I've been trying out the wet pallet for the last couple of days. I am now a true believer  ;D.

These are looking great!

The green tint to their skin really works for them. It reminds me of looking at your feet when you are walking through the surf; and the water distorts the colour just a bit.

The other colours complement it really well.

Hoping to at least base the squad and finish the Akhelian by the end of the weekend. Will update you guys if I've succeeded.

So, it's been a little while, hasn't it ;D?

Sorry for the late post, and that there's not much to it at the moment. I was going to paint last weekend, but then I got sick as a dog and couldn't really be bothered to do anything but sleep lol.

I did build a Wild Drycha. I've made some progress on my Soulrender, which is definitely still WIP. I'm trying to figure out how I want to base the blue armor. I could use the regular silver highlights, or I could try something different like a neon green to kind of give it a more undersea feel.

I also managed to get another Reaver past the basing stage, but I didn't take pics. I hope to start painting again this weekend.

Went back to work on one of my Kurnoth Hunters to see how I could improve it.

95% Completed Akhelian, just needs some cleanup.

They look awesome! I still love the autumn foliage on the base, just really brings them to life. Always a pleasure to see.

I'm working on some electro priests for my buddy's admech and trying to paint, haven't started yet, my black legion.

Thank you, Dread, appreciate the comment!

I'll be keeping an eye out for those electro-priests, those are some cool models   :). Also cannot wait to see your black legion!

Thanks, Mage  ;D! And to think painting that Namarti Skin was something I used to think about with dread lol. Now they're kind of one of my favorite units to paint!

The only two things that I'm miffed about somewhat have to be that I broke the standard on my Akhelian. Also, not too happy with how the Kurnoth's weapon came out, but I put too many layers on it to really think about going back over it again lol  :P.

I'm going to do some research on those Kurnoth weapons, I really think they hold the model back a little bit, the way I did them before.

Amazing colour palette. Your colour choices are superb and work very well in juxtaposition of each other. Great work on the highlights as well.

Thanks, DoW, that's quite a compliment ;D! Working with brushes much smaller than 0/2 actually make the highlighting much easier!

Went back to my Treelord Ancient today. Still WIP, but I think I've made enough progress to share  ;D.

So, I have a bit of sad news... apparently, some of my older models that I varnished a couple of months ago by brush had a bad reaction to the cold weather here... and they have frosted by a noticeable amount. It really sucks because I've had these models for about a year now.

The models affected:
2x Allopexes
My Squad of 5 Ishlaen Guards, which were some of the first models I painted.

Fortunately, nothing else has been affected by this. Still really bumbed out by it. I think they stand up enough that I can still put them on the table. But I will ultimately replace them when I can.

In the meantime, here's a status update on what I've painted in the last couple of months.

That's a pretty stellar looking force. That totally sucks about the frosting. I had similar issues with GW washes reacting badly with non-GW paint. I'm wondering if a lahmian media layer would restore the original paint job. I've used it with success in the past. Sometimes I had to use 'ard coat first to smooth it out and then lahmian media to make it unglossy. Just a thought. It may be worth a try if you have those technical paints.
