From the Warhammer Community rumour engine:
The Rumour Engine - December 19th, 2017 - Warhammer Community (https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/12/19/rumour-engine-december-19th-2017/)
I can't see how this is anything other than Aeldari as it doesn't fit any other aesthetic. Hopefully we'll be seeing one or more models sometime in the New Year!
-
That's a very odd gem at the base of this wing, mate. A work in progress maybe? Is it a big piece or just zoomed in? Could be a titan. Very exciting, either way. Thanks for sharing, Looshkin.

It looks like Soul Stones on regular Aeldari to me, mounted on something and then fixed to the armour. It isn't something that has been modelled on a vehicle though.
I'm certain it's Eldar, but I have no idea what I'm looking at; whether it's a very sleek helm, part of a wing or fin...or something else entirely.
-
It may even be terrain. Hope not though. I like the idea of a new unit. What rules are out there that haven't any models?
For example, There were rules for wave serpents 2 whole editions before there were models.

But GW has long since abandoned the practice of releasing rules for units that don't have models available.
-
That answers the question then. Thanks, mate!
-
I'll go with ynnari.
They didnt really get an update in chapter approved.
GW release new models near a new codex.
It's too clean for DE, harlie got an update in CA and cwe has its codex.
-
Ynnari is a good bet. Maybe some kind of new CWE thing though.
-
That bottom gem is still bugging me. That and the little pips running along the lower edge. Still looks like terrain to me. I'm never right with these kinds of things, but still sticking to my guns.

Could well be a terrain piece, such as a webway gate that we could well do with.
Aren't the heads on the new Wraithguard ridged at the back though? I'm fairly certain they are; in which case it still fits the classic Aeldari aesthetic.
-
Dang!
How new is the new Wraithguard? I bought mine six months ago. There are no pips at the bottom edge of their wings... If they are the latest then I'm thinking terrain.
Cannot stress how much that I'm wrong with these things.

Not the wings, the back of the head. Ridged just like the thing in the rumour.

While my first guess would be shining spears or some new Ynnari unit, I think it is more fun to massively over guess.
I'm going to wildly guess that the image is the top of a massive war bow that uses some sort of 'hard light' bow string that connects the two ends of the bow.
The bow is going to be Kurnous' bow and is wielded by an avatar of Kurnous himself who is going to be discovered and resurrected by Eldrad.
This is going to be part of the sequence of events on the chain to the eventual splitting of Slannesh where part of Asuryan is pulled out of her gut.
The Craftworld Eldar will actually become the Asuryani, and Slannesh is going to be re-imaged as a slightly more kid friendly god of perfection, pride, and arrogance.
Likely none of this is even close to the truth!
-
Oh my, Looshkin!
Had to have another look at the pic, but yes, you may be right. Ok, so far we have the back of the head of something or a terrain piece. Good call, mate! This is blessed exciting!
-
I think the terms sharpest ideas and cutting edge theories kind of elude to a blade instrument of some sort.
An executioner off of a banshee exarch? A new Jan Zair model? It almost looks like an incubi glaive at the moment, just with soul stones.

Good spot DoW! I think, the more I look at it, that you may be onto something as far as a weapon goes. The tip is just so pointy and sharp.
How I would love to see new Phoenix Lords released along with new Aspects. In fact, I think I just did a bit of sex wee thinking about it...
-
Looks like it could be a vehicle fin. Like the fins on Vipers/venoms/starweavers.
-
Sex wee? Still thinking terrain. Looking forward to being proven wrong with an AMAZINIG unit of some sought.
-
I don't think it'd be terrain. Terrain doesn't really sell, especially non imperial terrain.
-
I think that it's likely to be the tail fin of an Eldar vehicle or Wraith construct, which looks larger than it is because of zooming in. I would be surprised if it were anything larger, such as a titan, and I agree with Killersquid that it's unlikely to be a terrain piece.

yeah elder recently got a "terrain" piece you know that giant broken rune... but we can still dream :)
-
I think I saw somewhere that it would be Nuadhu Fireheart joining the Ynnari ranks, but it might just have been someone speculating. :)
-
so when do we find out what it is?

When it's released.

I have heard that the new Harlie codex will contain a warp gate, allowing a deployment from 6".
Furthermore, the rumour engine picture shows part of this model AND Aeldari will be able to use it....
Time will tell, hope it's true.
-
Told you so!
Check out the picture of the Aeldari Warpgate in May's White Dwarf!!! :)
-
I'm going to go ahead and order one of those warp gates ASAP.
-
Yep, me too Partninja. :)
I hope my source was correct about the stats for this thing.
-
Oh my! That thing is huge. I was thinking it would be a bit bigger than a Wraith Lord...but bigger than a Knight? Crazy! Beautiful!
-
For those who don't have the new WD issue, the image in question is also on the Warhammer Community page:
Venator Gangs, Wizardly Duels and Webway Gates: May?s White Dwarf - Warhammer (https://www.warhammer-community.com/2018/04/27/may-white-dwarf-preview-27-aprgw-homepage-post-2/)

any info on pricing for the new terrain model?
EDIT: just found some posts on FB (photos from WD), 25 GBP or $70 Aud, to be honest, thats cheaper than I was expecting.
It is also meant to be 13" tall!
Rules are in the box and in the Harlies codex.

And $40 US for those that are that way inclined.
It's a very reasonable price point for a massive bit of terrain.
-
I'm so excited to pick this up. Its great timing because I just finished my Eldar ruins. With the webway gate I'll have a really great Maiden World/Corsair hideout themed board. So stoked.
I'm really thrilled about the price. I cant believe its as much as the Eldar ruins. I'm always surprised at how cheap GW's terrain is. I'm always looking for more terrain and whenever I try to get some 3rd party stuff and for the most part I just walk away saying "too expensive". At $40 its a total steal.
-
It seems like it's rather thin. It's talk but it doesn't seem like it's really a lot of plastic. This would make the price make sense.
-
Again, take with a pinch of salt, but I have heard that it has about 14 wounds and a toughness of 8. It can be set up in the manner of many units in 8th, so many inches away from the enemy and our guys can pop through it. :)
