Do you mean the Imperial Navy in total, the fleet of the Imperium entire?

Or do you mean Battlefleet Gothic itself, the naval forces of the Gothic Sector under Admiral Ravensburg?

Given the little I know about Homeworld 2, I would have to guess that the complete Imperial Navy would defeat them with ease, due to massive numbers at least, but Battlefleet Gothic itself would lose for the same reason, numbers.

I looked over the homeword specs and I'm confused.  I don't understand if those "ranges" in "m" actually mean meters or miles or something.  If meters, they are going to get decimated.  If miles, then they may have an edge.  I have no idea how manuverable/durable they are.  Need something relative like asteroid impacts vs hulls, megaton-based damage, speed and weapon power.

Welcome to the boards Hunter!

Now, I played the numbers card too, so maybe we should narrow this down to a conflict between two fleets of similar numbers, to give each side a fighting chance. That's more interesting.

You can only judge the size by having played the game. In fact, those Motherships and Capital ships are really huge, they are about 1000 times the size of a regular fighter. The ships of BFG and Homeworld were designed with the same ideas: fighter class ships, and the much bigger Capital ships and Motherships that can house (almost) an entire population. Judging who would win cannot be done by looking at the size, because of that.

Maybe it would be a fair fight if we left the Talismans or Port Maw out of the fight, you know, there is no sci-fi universe (well maybe star wars with its sith weapon that draws energy directly from a sun) with such big structures flying in space as 40k, strange isn't it?

Battlefleet Gothic(the imperial space fleet) doesn't have any talismans left.
