Need MODERATORS Help!
« on: September 12, 2015, 09:54:30 AM »
Hey guys,

I'm new here but what an awesome forum! I have a big favour to ask...

On this thread: My sergeant telion conversion. (Added Belial & Dreadknight)
There is a dreadknight that looks amaaaazing! I would like to know the parts (BANNOK - http://www.40konline.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=1d9215c3636bd7a59a4797d97735d584&action=profile;u=50482) used to make it, but he hasn't been active for a year. I'm here to ask if a moderator can PM me his e-mail or email him and ask if it's okay for me to email him?

Failing that: Would anybody be knowledgable enough in the community to tell me what parts he used to get said effect for the dreadknight?

Thanks soo much,
- Koshy

Hi Koshy,

I haven't got any special skills when it comes to identifying conversion items but in Bannoks thread he says...

Bits for dreadknight were

Ravenwing battleforce upgrade sprues, venerable dreadnought, greenstuff... , a dreadknight :p , and some bits from dark angel upgrade sprue. The head is made up 75% ravenwing 15% venerable and 10% Dark Angels.

He also obviously uses a lot of green stuff as well.

By the way welcome to the forum and if you make a Dread like this I hope you post the result on here.

Ah thanks I somehow missed that. I most certainly will! Although, probably not with those gatling guns on top and I may try a couple different ideas for covering the legs (like using the already existing leg pieces below the knees but put them above the knees or perhaps the shoulders will work).

I'm struggling to determine which pieces he used though for which parts. Pretty clear the front piece is the Ven. Dread's leg armour and possibly also the "shoulder plates", but the rest I'll have to really work hard to figure out :/

Thanks for welcoming me :D

I really like the gatling guns. Do you not like them or is it that you haven't got them?

Sorry I can't be of more help when it comes to identfying the conversion bits. There are some really talented bits bashers on this forum and I really hope they find this thread.

Also GML, one of our Mods, is an expert on everything DA so I hope he finds this thread and is able to identify some of the items.

Good luck with your conversion

Would be nice if the forum let me friend them/message them =/ Thanks though, I'll try and find a way to get in touch with them. Perhaps you being on here much longer could try making them aware of the thread via a PM?

Well I really am a fan of the Psilencer for dealing with MC's or glancing vehicles to death after a shunt to the side/rear armour, but the 10 extra points over the Incinerator is difficult to make happen for my current list :P and TBH I think the Gatling Psi and HPsy make a much better combo than Gatling and Incin (because even if you fail with the Gatling or don't have force on, you still have 6 str 7 rending attacks on the way).

Thanks,
Koshy

Koshy:  You only need to reach 5 posts before you are allowed to send PMs.  That is in place to counter spam bots that create accounts and spam PM messages.

As for the parts being used, in the initial pictures where he has the green stuff all over the front, it looks like the chest / head piece to a venerable dreadnought.  The completed Dreadknight, though, I have no idea what he used.  The parts don't look familiar to me at all.

I think that it's three posts, because that's when members leave the newest group and move to newbie ;).

Thank you so much :D

Anyone know where this daemon weapon comes from? It kind of looks like a bloodletters but looking at GW website I don't see any with the "skull".

Updated: it appears to be from a blood crusher, let me know if I'm wrong :)

I think that might be the one from the Herald on the Blood Throne. Yeah, I'm 90% sure on that.
