I did not use plasticard that I'm aware of. At least, not in the buildings.
I did indeed decide to set up a tutorial on a handy little trick with printer paper and wooden sticks as well as pizza boxes and popsicle sticks.
The dock in my opinion will first look good when it's sitting in water (which it will soon, I promise)
I'm painting the gatehouse as we speak and intend to get a tutorial on that as well. (similar building at least)
The buildings should be rather universal but look too fantasy like to use with 40k.
After I finished this table, a table for a friend and a table for 15mm historic (had some replies from friends as well, commissions if you'd like) I plan to make space in my hobby room for a 40k table.
I got that idea after reading about the chaosin transit station something or another in Necropolis (gaunts Ghosts novels) and want a table featuring railroads
That however is a long way still.
I'll post updates somewhere this week of progress on the drawbridge and painting the gatehouse as well as anything else I can come up with.
The wood is part Balsa, part popsicle sticks, part gardening equipment etc. etc. etc.
At the moment I use whatever I can get my hands on.
