GW has actually picked up a number of the great animators that are doing fan videos and are giving them official support.  The guy that did Astartes got picked up as an example.

I was excited when they got the guy who did helsreach last year,  now I'm extra stoked. Definitely a golden age of 40k.

So many Fallout New Vegas feelings.

It is actually an old fallout shelter. Built by the county about 8 km from the nearest, as I estimate, possible missile target. Way out in the middle of nowhere then, not any more.

I may have gotten the most exciting text in years.

My older brother just sent me this.  In '99, he split the 3rd Ed starter set with his friends and I read that sumbe-atch cover to cover countless times. It was his 3rd edition mini-dex that attracted me to the Unforgiven.
Do I expect him to go full tilt like I did? Nope. Just exciting to see he's got stuff back on the painting table and it's in the right beslubbering colour!

Turns out him and his friends are getting into Kill Team.  Still a win in my books.

This is a recording of a D&D campaign that I play in on Wednesdays.  Some context for the video:

  • We are two members down this session.  One forgot what day it was, and the other lost power after someone took out a telephone with their car
  • The DM gave us the chance to avoid all this by recommending we wait until everyone was present, but we thought we'd be fine to face anything as it was
  • Harold is played by the guy who "panics"
  • Harold is played as a character that has left a life at sea and just begun his career as an adventurer.  He has never seen a person being killed until the first fight we had in the dungeon.
  • Harold is a Sorcerer with a might 26hp at level 5
  • His experiences in combat so far have lead him to believe that he is invincible because he has been targeted many times at range but has yet to be hit
  • The giant door that we are standing in front of was an Elder Gate, and when we opened it we were all hit with a curse that prevents us from regaining hit points.  We, the players, know that, but our characters don't.
  • Before we opened the door, we had discussed an intricate plan to allow the non-darkvision characters an opportunity to see the single Manticore we knew was behind the door
  • After the door was opened, we then proceeded to have another discussion about how the curse would effect our plan.  This is what lead me to ask if the monster could hear us.
  • It was only after combat began did we find out that there were, in fact, three manticores waiting for us.
Begin with the video at this point:
https://youtu.be/Of8zmP4kmYA?t=5040

After combat begins, you can skip to this section:
https://youtu.be/Of8zmP4kmYA?t=6943

The more we play, the more our group name of The Wurst Experts seems appropriate (yes, wurst was intentionally spelt that way lol)

With the 40k data devs saying they are done with using BattleScribe because the creator refuses to update or go open source...

Desperate times call for desperate measures.  Taught myself how to make rudimentary data files for Army Builder (which I've always prefered to BS anyways).  It's not pretty, its not efficient, but it suits my needs!

You could all just write your army lists down on paper with a pen you know.  It would be a lot quicker ;).
