Seriously.
I get that they are the servants if the plague God. But all I can think when I look at them are things like "That guy has a tongue coming out of his stomach :o ??? :-X" or "how the heck does that guy see any thing with that horn coming out of his face??!?!" or "can that guy even pull the trigger on his gun with that tentacle?". The are so gross it detracts from thier cool factor. I feel like it's overdone.
What do you guys think? Am I crazy?

They look fine. If anything we've been way too used to watered down versions in the past. Tentacles are remarkably dexterous, by the way, as many an octopus escaping captivity may tell you.
-
To be honest I actually quite like their new models! I agree with Grimsqueaker that the old models were probably a bit tame!
I'm not much of a fan of the current Games Workshop painting for them though, way too bright. Doesn't suit the models at all.

The original artwork and conceptualisation of the Deathguard from Lost and the Damned depicts them, and all daemons and followers of Nurgle, as being rather revolting to look at. As a result, I see no issue with the new models having such a vile appearance. They are supposed to look extremely diseased and rotten.
-
One of the reasons I've never played Nurgle (despite the fact that they've been the most consistently good faction in Chaos for a long, long time) is that I've always found the artwork and, now, the models super gross.
That isn't to say I don't think they're cool--they are. I just don't want to paint puss on all my models and stuff. Ick.
-
They are most certainly gross, but isn't that the whole point of them? This is nurgle after all. ;D
-
I suppose it is all down to personal taste. Personally I find them to be ridiculous rather than gross except for the Mortarion model which looks amazing.

I feel this way about all 40k chaos stuff. They do tend to be ridiculous looking most of the time.

Honestly not a big fan. I really feel like they could've pushed the aesthetic a lot more. I'm a big fan of Yasushi Nirasawa and Makoto Kobayashi's "creature core" style art. They really should have pushed the biological horror a lot more.
The tentacles and mouths are really played out to me.
I would've liked to see stuff more like this:

I think the models are fine. I love the Pox Walker models a lot.

I actually really like the new look and feel of the Death Guard, makes them really fun to paint with many different textures etc
