Robert Vaughn
« on: November 12, 2016, 12:49:25 PM »
Amidst all the fallout from the US election, Robert Vaughn's death yesterday has been rather overlooked.  His was a star over in the UK during the 1960s for his portrayal of Napoleon Solo in the Man from U.N.C.L.E, a programme which I used to watch when it was repeated back in the 1990s, but of course most will remember him for his role in the Magnificent Seven.

A very interesting biography, which included a lot of things I didn't know about him can be found via this link: Obituary: Robert Vaughn - BBC News.

I had to google him, and I still don't recognize him, though I'm sure this points more to my own ignorance than anything else.

This year seems to have been particularly hard on famous elderly gentlemen.

No Man from UNCLE memories? His sidekick (Illya Kuryakin) is now the NCIS medical examiner and former Agent of Reality protecting against unauthorised excursion events (Steel).

The Magnificent Seven have now all fallen.

The Magnificent Seven have now all fallen.
Should we be glad then that Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, and Vincent Denafrio (or how ever the beslubber you spell his name) have taken up that mantle?
If there is anything that recent politics has taught us, it is that quotes taken out of context can mean what ever you want them to.
